The Galdi Fellowship in Onco-Nephrology and Glomerular Kidney Diseases, made possible thanks to the generous $1.25 million endowment from Linda and Greg Galdi, merges two rapidly growing subspecialties related to kidney diseases and further advances expertise in the field.

We are proud to celebrate the graduation of the inaugural 2023-2024 Galdi Fellow, Dr. Rose Mary Attieh, who over the last year, worked under the guidance of Dr. Steven Fishbane and Dr. Kenar D. Jhaveri to develop expertise in onco-nephrology and glomerular disease.

Inspired by the launch of The White House Initiative on Women’s Health, which aims to fast-track medical innovations for women with increased federal funding, Iris and Saul Katz made a generous gift to create the Iris and Saul Katz Professor in Women’s Health Research — the first position of its kind at Northwell Health. 🌟

Elizabeth Cohn, RN, PhD, vice president of health equity research and a professor within the Institute of Health System Science at the The Feinstein Institutes, is the inaugural recipient of this endowed position, which ensures that Northwell has a distinguished scientist leading efforts to close a critical health gap for women.

Dr. Cohn, an Obama White House Champion of Change for translating research to clinical practice, aims to accelerate research on the social, structural and scientific factors impacting women’s health.

Every time Attilio Petrocelli drove down Community Drive, he would glance at the construction of the new pavilion at North Shore University Hospital and beam with pride. Thanks to a significant gift from Attilio and his wife, Beverly, as well as contributions from many other generous donors, the Attilio and Beverly Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion opened to the public in February 2024.

The state-of-the-art pavilion includes:

😷 18 operating rooms, including three hybrid rooms with advanced imaging

🏥 132 intensive care rooms

❤️ And its home to the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital, enhancing the Northwell Health Transplant Institute, Long Island’s only heart, liver, and lung transplant program.

Feinstein Summer Concert raises $3.6M to support medical innovation | Northwell Health The 19th annual event supports Northwell's Outpacing the Impossible campaign.

Over Thanksgiving weekend in 2007, Emilie Corey was recovering from emergency gallbladder surgery, when in the bed next to her, an elderly woman nearing the end of her life was calling out for her deceased mother.

That experience, along with Emilie’s background as a former geriatric social worker, inspired her and her husband, Michael, to make a generous gift to establish the Pegasus House Palliative Care Program at Peconic Bay Medical Center - Northwell Health, which aims to improve the quality of life for patients with chronic or life-limiting illnesses. This was just the beginning of their relationship with PBMC and Northwell Health.

A decade later, the Coreys made the largest donation in the hospital’s history, naming the Corey Critical Care Pavilion, and most recently, the Coreys announced their latest gift to name the Emilie Roy Corey Center for Women and Infants – a new center designed to deliver customized care for women at every life stage.

Steadfast generosity transforms care on Long Island’s East End | Northwell Health Foundation Emilie and Michael Corey’s latest gift will create a center for women and infants.

The Lenox Hill Hospital Brain Tumor Center 10th Anniversary Gala raised more than $1.1 million for vital brain tumor research, including a generous $100,000 donation from the evening’s honoree, actor and comedian Pete Davidson.

In gratitude, and to honor Pete’s late father, Lenox Hill Hospital will hire the Scott Davidson Research Scholar, a new position to optimize patient access to clinical trials and implement therapies derived from the center’s research.

With donor support, the center will continue its mission to improve patient care, expand access to novel clinical trials and raise essential funds for its ongoing, cutting-edge research. 🧠❤️

The Lenox Hill Hospital Brain Tumor Center raised more than $1.1 million during its 10th anniversary gala celebration.

Funds generated from the gala will support several of the Center’s initiatives — from the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment to financing groundbreaking research into brain and spinal cord tumor treatments.

To meet the growing needs of the more than two million New Yorkers who turn to us for care, Northwell Health is expanding in Manhattan with a new, world-class facility on Third Avenue between East 76th and East 77th. Thanks to a historic gift from Victoria and Lloyd Goldman – the largest in Northwell’s history – we're proud to name it the Victoria and Lloyd Goldman Health Care Pavilion.

Opening in 2026, the Goldman Health Care Pavilion will be anchored by cancer care programs led by the Northwell Cancer Institute and offer patient-centered specialty care, complementing our expertise at Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital and Lenox Health Greenwich Village . The Goldmans’ gift also funds the Victoria and Lloyd Goldman Professorship, funding the recruitment and retention of premiere medical talent.

Last March, Amy went for a routine mammogram and ultrasound at Phelps Hospital where she was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma, a type of breast cancer. Dr. Swetha Dasari guided Amy through the next steps, even offering to call surgeons on her behalf. Amy will always remember Dr. Dasari's patience and kindness during that difficult, life-changing conversation. Despite not being the closest hospital, Amy chose Phelps for her treatment because of the exceptional care she received. After surgery, chemo, and radiation, Amy's treatment was completed by mid-December, and so was her cancer.

Amy was proud to support the in Westchester so that more patients can receive the same, compassionate care she did at Phelps Hospital.
