Welcome to the official page for Troops of St. George - Troop 85! This is a Catholic ministry for young men and their dads looking for a life of adventure coupled with virtue. It uses the outdoors as a game with a purpose. The game – to go camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and other adventures; to learn how to cook, tie knots, first aid, and other life skills. The purpose is to grow one’s faith, deepen one’s relationship with Christ, nurture the father/son relationship, build strong virtuous leaders, and teach citizenship.
If you and your son(s) would like to join us on many different adventures, please join us for a meeting on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7 PM in McGivney Hall, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church on 3101 Eton Street, New Orleans, LA 70131.
