JL Studio was brought on by owner Dr. Lauren Agnew from the beginning to design her new location and we always tell clients that is the best time to bring in a designer! We do our best work when we can dream with you from the ground up! We provide everything from the space planning, elevations, electrical layouts, branding, color palette, finishes & fixtures, to the furniture, decor & accessories.

We are so happy Eye Wares Nola has finally opened their doors! It wasn’t an easy road to get to the finished space…with shipping delays, back orders, covid interruptions, you name it…but we were there through it all and are so happy we could bring them to the finish line. Thank you to Dr. Agnew and the Eye Wares team for trusting JL Studio and trusting our process! 🙏

A year following the install of these two custom paintings, this elegant living room came to a completion! If there is any word we love it's - custom - and that is the theme throughout the finishing touches in this space. We can't wait to share the additional spaces in this house AND the same owners' French Quarter property that was completed this year! Stay tuned!

While JL Studio is currently relocated in Florida, we can't help but think of our Orange Beach, AL condo reno we did last year! Yes, we do beach condos! And if you are currently in your condo post-Hurricane Ida thinking it needs a makeover, let us inspire you to make that decision!

For Phase 1: we gutted the entire kitchen, breakfast nook, and bathroom. All of the drawings and design selections for this Orange Beach were done from New Orleans including tile, stone, and flooring! Check out those before and after photos😍

JL Studio is committed to providing their best work along the Gulf Coast regardless of the time or place! This project was completed during the pandemic, so we were unable to get professional photos for the space. Stay tuned for Phase 2 of this Perdido Beach Blvd condo!

‼️A message from JL Studio concerning Hurricane Ida impacts:

As we are patiently waiting to professionally photograph the 11th finished room in this beautiful English Turn residence, we love to reminisce on some of the final shoots we have had here like this master bathroom!

This bathroom had quite the stunning transformation! A relocated shower, a free standing tub, and raised door casings were among the many changes to make this bathroom feel more grand. We replaced all the finishes with pretty much marble everything! We relocated the plumbing to have double sinks adjacent to each other on the same wall. When we did that, the bathroom entrance changed completely because instead of walking into the bathroom facing a sink, we re-designed it so the client would be walking in facing a beautiful makeup vanity with twin towers as the focal point. We also complimented the new entrance with a chandelier, sconces, & custom mirrors all the way to the ceiling! The window treatment was custom design by yours truly. All artwork and linens were hand selected by the JL team. The list goes on and on about this drastic transformation! We love our continued clients and can’t wait to shoot their recently finished guest bedroom. Stay tuned for that reveal!

Colorful wallpaper is on trend right now and we are throwing it back to when we used alllll the different wallpaper in this office space on Metairie Road!

This is one of our very special commercial projects, The Mirambell Realty headquarters in Old Metairie. This was one of the first more colorful projects JL Studio had the pleasure of designing. There is wallpaper galore! The wall to the right of the entry door greets you with bright and beautiful waves of color. This wall also features a hidden storage closet with a push-to-open door covered in the wallpaper to disguise it. The cluster of halo light fixtures all at different heights and around intersecting beams made for one crazy install day! These are just a few ways to energize an office space with some creative design!

STATEMENT STONE CENTRAL

In honor of this house recently getting sold, we are throwing it back to one of our favorite projects of 2019! This was a renovation and addition to a classic shotgun home located in the historic uptown of New Orleans, Louisiana. This house was fully gutted and then added onto to create a larger, open living area and a second story. A big feature in this home is paneled walls; we were able to aesthetically lay them out to compliment the windows and wall sconces in the staircase. There are three different sets of book-matched marble stone; one in the master bathroom shower, one on the kitchen hood wall, and one on the island. We had the kitchen hood painted by our faux finisher to resemble matte black steel. We love the look of two-toned cabinetry in the kitchen. Black cabinets are becoming more and more accepted and often times requested by our clients and we love it! Cheers to the new owners of this space!

JL Studio was hired to design the new location of Tujague’s Restaurant & Bar, the second oldest restaurant in New Orleans. Established in 1856, this New Orleans icon was known for its antique stand-up bar, traditional ambiance and historic memorabilia. The main mission of this project was to design an atmosphere that would reflect the original location. JL Studio was able to accomplish this through strategic planning: repurposing original elements and repeating architectural details while infusing Tujague’s history with fresh designs. Some of the notable features that are reminiscent of the original restaurant include wall paneling, placement of historic artwork and chandeliers and recreation of the original bar and color palette. More than doubling in size, the new location at 429 Decatur offers larger private dining rooms, an outdoor courtyard and luxurious bathrooms. Be sure to book a reservation to enjoy some delicious creole food and experience this world-class destination!
