Windows, but more importantly, light, plays a crucial role in architecture.
Light is a dynamic element that breathes energy and life into any space.
Incorporating natural light during the design process is key, as it transforms the ambiance and overall experience of a room. Whether it’s the soft glow of evening or the bright clarity of morning, light sets the tone and brings a sense of freshness, offering flexibility in how a space feels throughout the day.
One of the most valuable aspects of integrating biophilic design elements into architectural design is their ability to enhance both the environment and the experience of those within it.
Incorporating these elements that reference nature such as natural shapes and colors add beauty and help create healthier, more visually appealing spaces.
Nature has a profound impact on well-being—boosting mood, reducing stress, and improving productivity.
When designing a kitchen, I always think to myself, ‘Would I enjoy a morning coffee here?’
With September starting and fall approaching, I love how this kitchen becomes the perfect cozy retreat for enjoying the warmth of the season.
The rich wood tones and organic textures invite you to slow down and savor the changing light and crisp air🍂
Back to school means back to spaces that inspire.
As the new school year is here, I’m reminded of the profound impact that thoughtfully designed educational environments have on students.
At HSB, we’re passionate about creating spaces that not only foster learning and creativity but also support every student’s growth. Here’s to a year filled with learning in spaces designed to shape the future.
This is a new STEAM Lab we designed for a school in Westchester, NY
Light can always brighten up a space and create a serene sanctuary in the heart of NYC.
This space reflects my dedication for minimalist elegance and thoughtful design. Every element is carefully curated to harmonize natural light, art, and comfort.
Floor plans for a very special residential project we designed a while back.
Originally by Gilbert A. Schellenger in 1893, this Renaissance Revival Style row house was meticulously restored and converted into a luxurious single-family townhouse.
Dreams do come true!
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Fallingwater in Pennsylvania. .
Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece perfectly harmonizes nature and architecture, showcasing innovative design at its finest. The integration of the structure with its surroundings is truly inspiring.
The design really does blur the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces.

When designing this dining hall, we wanted to highlight motivational quotes. Eleanor Roosevelt’s words about courage remind students of their inner strength and potential.
This design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s crafted to foster a positive, empowering atmosphere that supports bold thinking and perseverance every day.
School’s out, see you in September at Moss Outpost Café at SAR!
As we wrap up the school year, I can’t help thinking how much I’d have loved to have a café when I was in school.
☕ Quick bites between classes
☕ Perfect for both group and solo study sessions
☕ Eco-friendly design with a focus on student well-being
This isn’t just a café; it’s a community hub where students can relax, collaborate, and thrive.
🌟 Excited to share one of our latest projects: A new school and community center in Highland Park, New Jersey! These renderings showcase our vision for the entrance lobby.
At HSB, we’re committed to creating spaces that reflect identity and inspire pride. The entryway is designed to welcome students and staff, setting a positive tone from the moment they arrive. It’s more than just a doorway— it’s a symbol of community and belonging.
Stay tuned as we bring this vision to life and continue to innovate for the future of education and community engagement.
Very excited to share a sneak peek of our latest school design project at Yeshivat He’Atid, a private school in New Jersey.

I grew up in the beautiful beach city of TLV, Israel, amidst the complexities of constant conflict of this region. 🇮🇱
Today, we celebrate Israel’s 76th Independence Day that comes just one day after the day of remembrance for fallen soldiers and civilians.
This connection highlights the juxtaposition of sorrow and hope that defines our journey.
We may be in a very long and dark night, but, as Emily Dickinson wrote, "hope is the thing with feathers."
Hope liberates us from despair, giving us the strength to carry on. It empowers us, asking nothing in return.
Holding on to hope— for Israel and our neighbors.

Last week, we visited Mexico as a family and I couldn't help but appreciate the architecture of the ruins.
The Mayan ruins are perched atop a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea, and they are the only Maya settlement situated along the sandy shores of the Caribbean.
At the end of the day, we cooled off by the beach.
Feeling grateful for a wonderful family getaway.
Living room from a home in Williamsburg!
I love an open space concept, especially when there are expansive windows to fill the space with natural light.
— Exploring Textures and Patterns
We were on site last week at a townhouse in Downtown Brooklyn (stay tuned!) One of the decisions we had to make was what tile we will use...
Choosing the right tile affects both the aesthetic appeal and the functionality of your space.
The herringbone-patterned marble tiles pictured offer a classic yet dynamic look, adding a touch of sophistication and movement to any surface.
The straight subway marble tiles provide a more traditional appearance, often associated with clean and contemporary design.
Both styles use the natural veining of marble to create an elegant and luxurious look.
Last week, we talked about how marble plays a part in both functionality and aesthetics. This week, we get to see that more clearly in these bathroom spaces.
In the first photo, the bold choice of a matte black shower fixtures complements the veining of the marble, while a wood vanity brings a touch of organic warmth.
Swipe to the left! In this photo, the brass fixtures lend a subtle luxury that enhances the marble’s natural warmth, paired with a white vanity for a classic, clean look.
By now, it's no secret that I have a thing for coffee.
I create my own personal Coffee Maps in the city.
Every project I undertake is rooted in its surroundings and finding the local coffee shop is key.
Before any site visit, I make it a point to grab my coffee from there, and it's well-understood among the contractors that no meeting kicks off on the right note without it.
It’s a way to know a neighborhood, tuning into its rhythm and get everyone in working mode. Our residential clients are private, so our project names are tagged by neighborhoods and the coffee we’ve shared together on site while building them.
Otway is a chic and vibrant restaurant in Clinton Hill, proudly owned by women. After a visit to one of our ongoing projects, The James Condominiums, I stopped by for a quick americano.
This week, I'm excited to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle these condos will offer. Keep an eye out!
Hello April!
This room feels like a celebration of light and organic elegance. A retreat for a serene afternoon.
The caramel of the leather sofa paired with earth-toned pillows create a welcoming embrace, while the wood accents and the lush green of the indoor plant breathe life into the room.

WTA has quickly become a trailblazing institution for its innovative educational models that reflect core values and build confident, independent, caring learners, all while maintaining financially accessible tuition.
I love unique staple pieces. For example, the elephant statue standing on guard. A grand mirror reflecting your journey, and a touch of Louis Vuitton that adds a chapter of luxury.
