Hokkaido is truly a favorite hotspot when it comes to quality seafood of Japan. In the northern most island of Japan, Hokkaido, the scallops are known for their sweet flavor, tender feeling, and creamy sensation. Some Hotate scallops from Hokkaido are harvested from early summer, so we recommend giving it a try. 😋

🎎🎉 Happy ひな祭り Hina-Matsuri!
Hina-Matsuri, directly translated as “Doll’s Festival” is Japan’s Girls’ Day. Celebrated every year on March 3rd, this special holiday is an exciting time for families to pray for young girls’ growth, health, prosperity, and happiness.⭐️ It is called the doll’s festival, as families display a gorgeous array of dolls that are meant to ward off evil and sadness.

There are a few different foods that are traditionally enjoyed on this day, but our favorite one has to be Chirashi-Sushi! This dish, “scattered sushi”, is a colorful combination of sushi rice, vegetables, omelette slices, seafood, and more. 😋Amongst the toppings, shrimp and lotus root are normally included, as they represent longevity and a good future, respectively.
