Freshly cut in the brown bag 😍👌

A brown bag is traditionally used for freshly cut biltong to absorb the moisture (aka grease from the biltong). However, if not eaten within a few days, the air will gradually dry out the meat.

*REMINDER* Biltong does not have preservatives, so it cannot sit in your pantry or fridge for months like jerky.

If you need to preserve your biltong, here are a few tricks:

(1) Place the brown bag of biltong in the refrigerator. This will get you a few extra days or freshness.
(2) Portion out the biltong into ziplock bags and place into the freezer. It takes just 10-15 minutes to thaw, and you can keep it for months.
(3) Vacuum seal the biltong to cut off any access to moisture or air. The biltong will keep for months, if unopened.
