Physical therapy has started 💪 and Elvijs is getting better every day! It will still be awhile before he is off the crutches and back in the cafe, but a picnic at the park was a go! 🏖️ Elvijs expressed how grateful he is for the outpour of kindness, and while we are not surprised by all the love sent his way, we certainly are moved by the Alita community’s generosity and support. Feel free to leave a message in the comments and we will pass them on to him 💌😊

If you’ve been to Alita, chances are you’ve met and have been charmed by our friend and colleague, Elvijs. As an essential part of our day-to-day operations, he can be seen tossing cheese to enthralled canines, all the while making the best breakfast sandwiches in East Williamsburg.

On April 15th, Elvijs was involved in a car accident and rushed to the hospital to undergo leg surgery. Thankfully, Elvijs is now healing but will need additional post-surgery care and therapy. The Alita family is supporting him as best we can, and we are asking the community for support too in helping Elvijs through his recovery.

The amount we are asking for will go to Elvijs 100% to help him cover the following:
-Meal Service
-Lost Wages (Shift tips, etc.)
-Misc Bills not covered by insurance
