If you know me you know how important my marriage has always been to me. Today we celebrate 19 years married. To my wife, best friend , and business partner.
I AM SO PROUD OF US !! you have inspired me, made me change for the better and I have loved being married to you everyday for the past 19 years. My relationship with you ,makes me strive to be a better me.
I always know I have you to come home to and that brings me inner peace and allows me to be a better instructor and human being.
There would be no dojo without you.You have made all the difference in my life and in my success.I have always adored you. I appreciate you so much EL Dojo te AMA 😘😍🥰😍😘

This month at we learn about the importance of honoring hard work. As we come up on our second year anniversary we just enrolled our 165 student! Way to go eldojo! Congratulations to all the who have worked so hard to earn their next rank. 👊

They trained, they cried, they refused to quit! Join me in celebrating our newest Intermediate Students as they advance to their Purple Belts!

We spent a rainy Saturday afternoon team-building and learning some fresh martial arts moves with biology students from the Rockefeller University!

This team was not only smart but incredibly fierce! I can't thank them enough for their great attitude and great sense of humor!

Noa Afonso has trained with me since 2017! Even during the pandemic, we trained on Zoom and in parks on the Upper East Side! We are so excited to promote her to high brown belt!

Hunter Manuel was one of the most devoted parents I was ever around. He helped inspire other parents with his enthusiasm for my gym. He is one of the people responsible for my success in NYC at the dojos I ran. Because of his role in my life and the examples he set, I honor his life today and every day. The “HM” is up on my wall so that he knows he was important in my life!

Here is Hunter with my daughter Delilah. I still remember how excited he was for me having a baby girl.

As a young instructor, I was always taught to take great pride in my preparation to teaching. Since I was young, the more I prepared, the more experienced I sounded.

I speak to my students about confidence every day this month. The true confidence we seek comes from mindful repetition, and positive reinforcement.

With every new student we enroll, our Confidence in our skills grows.

Every now and then, my students surprise me.

8 years ago, Krisha (aka “the Krusha”) became my student. She wouldn’t say much,
But she always showed up.

During the pandemic we trained for two years on Zoom and she never missed a class. For the past 13 months she has been driving from New Jersey and back to take class with me.

I had the honor of awarding her the rank of Jr. Black Belt! Way to go Krusha !!!! EL DOJO is so proud of you !!!!
