LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER FOR TRANSGEM EXPO!!

Because TransGEM is a ticket-only event and you cannot get a ticket for the event the day of (at the) event, you must register.

This is because there is a vetting process to keep all participants non-cisgender persons, and to protect all the non-cisgender people who are a part of TransGEM.
Given the nature and culture of the expo.

So, our advice to all our non-cisgender friends: Even if you are unsure you can go or make it, just register so you can have a ticket. Because it is better to have a ticket on standby even if you end up not going, versus don’t register and not receive a ticket and decide you do want to go day of the event.

So register! Link in our bio!
The link in our bio is to our Link Tree, and it will be under “Upcoming Events” for the TransGEM Registration link.

We still have spots available!! 👏🏾👏🏿👏🏽.

Let’s unpack what we mean when we say people of trans-experience!

We get this questions a lot, and it’s a FAIR question because the phrase, “of trans-experience,” includes a wide variety of terms and identities. So let’s unpack it together:

Of Trans-Experience: anyone who doesn’t identify or feel comfortable with the gender associated with their s*x assigned at birth.

This means persons don’t indenting as cisgender because their gender identity falls under the nonbinary umbrella and/or two-spirit First Nations/native/indigenus umbrella. Not necessarily identifying as trans or transgender. And not the same as being inters*x, because it’s a s*x and not a gender.

However inters*x persons are eligible to attend and participate in TransGEM!

How this helps persons! Take a look at the different gender identies that are “of trans-experience,” and see if you find something new to explore.

All identities definitions and explanations can be found resource hub.

Can’t wait to see you at TransGEM!

Good Morning YAS Peepers!💗

I hope you all had a great weekend!!

Today is International Migrants Day. We wanted to share the difference between migrants, immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers. They may sound similar, as they are, but they do have their differences.

As you may know, December is Universal Human Rights Month so we wanted to bring visibility to LGBTQIA+ migrants, immigrants, asylum seekers, and refugees. They are at higher risks for facing challengers like exploitation, homelessness, etc.

Feel free to take time to learn more about LGBTQIA+ immigrants, asylum seekers, and refugees today and how you can show support..

And we’re fashionably late with this post, hahaha. 🫣

December 10th was Human Rights Day!🥳🥳

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate this holiday refer to our Universal Human Rights Month series! We’re spotlighting LGBTQIA+ activist who fight for human rights overall and for inclusion for all!

Remember to advocate for marginalized communities who are usually ignored in conversations about “equality.” 💕.

Hey Everyone! 💕

We’re back with our Universal Human Rights series, and yes a few days late too. 😅

The activist of this week is Pastor Alexis Salvador! Salvador is from Brazil and travels around Latin America with other ministers to raise awareness on the exclusion of LGBTQIA+ folks within Catholic Churches. 🏳️‍🌈

She is known as the “first transgender shepherd of Latin America!”🏳️‍⚧️

Countries like Brazil are known to be unsafe for transgender persons. However, this doesn’t stop Pastor Salvador from advocating for her community! .

As promised, we have our National Drunk & Drugged Driving Prevention Month post for you all! 🤓

Today we wanted to list reasons that LGBTQIA+ youth drink alcohol. We also included stats from our Brooklyn YAS Alcohol Youth Survey (2023). 🏳️‍🌈

In addition, we provided some approvals/disapprovals within LGBTQIA+ youth social circles when it comes to the topic of drinking.

Thankfully, most q***r and trans youth are against drinking and driving, which shows the awareness of this issue.
Let’s continue to acknowledge the dangers of substance usage while driving, and inform our community as well.

What do you all think? Did some of this info surprise you? 🤔💭.

Happy Pans*xual Pride Day YAS Peeps!!🎉🎉

It’s a day to celebrate by supporting pans*xual folks!

For folks who may not know what pans*xuality is, let’s learn together:

A person who identifies as a pans*xual is someone who is attracted to people regardless of gender.

This may sound similar to bis*xuality or even omnis*xuality. However it’s important to remember they share certain similarities, they all have their differences as well.

Alrighty friends! Happy Pans*xual Pride Day once more!!! 🎊💕.
