Etiquettes of Eid Adha

Eid Adha is a day of happiness and rejoicing.

The following etiquettes if done increase the reward of the blessed day:

1. Eating after Eid prayer, preferably from the sacrificial meat. It is best to go to the prayer on an empty stomach and eat once returning back.

2. Have a shower

3. Brush your teeth using a miswak

4. Apply scent - this is good for men but prohibited for women who go to perform the Eid prayer

5. To wear the best clothes that you have whether they are new or not

6. Show happiness and smile

7. Give charity and give gifts to children

8. Arrive early at the place where Eid prayer will take place

9. Pray fajr prayer with jama’a in your local mosque

10. Go walking to the Eid prayer reciting the takbir tashreeq loudly. Stop reciting it either when you get to the place of prayer or when the prayer begins.

11. Returning back from the Eid salah using a different route.

Do not pray any nafl prayer before the Eid prayer whether at home or at the place of prayer and likewise do not pray any nafl prayer after the Eid prayer at the place of prayer but it is ok to pray nafl when you return home.

তাকবীরে তাশরিক - TAKBEER TASHREEQ

It is wajib for both men and women, whether praying alone or in Jama'ah to recite Takbeer Tashreeq after every Fard Salaah starting from the Fajr of 9th Dhul Hijjah (Tuesday) until 'Asr of 13th of Dhul Hijjah (Saturday).

Men should recite aloud, whereas women should recite softly. It is recommended to read the Takbeer 3 times.

Takbeer Tashreeq is:
Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illallāhu wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar walillahil Hamd.

Arafat Day on 9th Dhul Hijja ,Tuesday June 27th and
Eid-Ul-Adha on 10 Dhul Hijja Wednesday June 28th .. Eid Jamat at our Mosque at 8 AM.
