At just 7 years old, Jazz Jennings became a national spokesperson and devoted advocate for transgender people all over the world, and continues to work to make LGBTQ young people more visible and celebrated. You can read all about her journey in I am Jazz by Jessica Herthel and Jazz Jennings.

Did you know that over her life she painted 55 self portraits? She believed in celebrating the culture and beauty of the indigenous peoples of Mexico, and was also a determined political activist.

⭐VIP Rising Star - Beatriz Ceron⭐
Beatriz completed the VIP Academy this past winter, prior to becoming a VIP she attended over 65 LINC reading programs and workshops including Virtual Bees series and more. She supports and enjoys participating in virtual and in person programs. Beatriz understands the importance of building a Literacy rich home for her children and in her friends households who she actively promotes LINC programs to.
Beatriz also engages in the LINC WhatsApp group.

On May 2, 1963, Audrey Faye Hendricks became the youngest known person arrested during the Civil Rights Movement at just 9 years old! She believed in making her home of Birmingham, Alabama a more equitable place for her and her fellow classmates.

Hilda and her daughters Camila and Elizabeth have been attending LINC programs since February 2021, she became a Very Involved Parent during spring academy the same year. She has supported physical and virtual programs like School fairs or reading programs. Her passion for reading is one of the reasons she is consistently engaged in all LINC programs and in her community. Go Hilda!
