Organization Clean Sites was founded as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020.
The Quarantine in NYC led to a spike in the use of opioids in our community at an alarming rate. At OCS, we made a commitment to the betterment of the NYC community by providing accessible resources to opioid users as well as generally educating our community to mitigate the opioid crisis. Services at OCS will include syringe exchanges, local support groups, private counseling, overdose prevention, relapse prevention, and educational sessions on opioid abuse.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a big rise in opioid abuse. Individuals are not following the correct precautions taking their medications. They are taking them in greater amounts than prescribed, and not being aware of side effects. The pandemic has made a service Telemedicine popular. Telemedicine was a safer way during the pandemic for doctors to see patients if they were ill and needed medicine. Individuals found out how easy it was to be prescribed medication and you didn't actually have to go to be seen in person. In my opinion, this service should be stopped unless you have a valid reason that you cant go to the doctor's office.
Here at OCS, we can help you find a doctor that will suit your needs.
According to American Addict Centers, private insurance companies are supposed to give a recovering addict in rehab the chance to go get treatment at low cost or no cost at all. Addiction treatment has become less stigmatized and now has more of a recognition because insurances are paying for a number of days in treatment through the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Here at O.C.S., we can assist you in by contacting your insurance provider for you and guiding you in the right direction to get you the resources you need.

Organization Clean Sites NYC Resources for Recovering from OUD.
During the first year of the COVID-19, over two million Americans' health insurances were declined by health services such as rehab, doctors offices, and psychologist and psychiatrists offices. Those who needed to go to rehab have then decided to enroll in government programs to be covered during this time that health insurances were declining.
Here at OCS, we are here to help you navigate through the difficulties you may have by giving you the option to have treatment at our company's facility!

New Study: Health Insurance Coverage Declined During the Pandemic Nearly 2.7 million people in the U.S. lost their health insurance over a 12-week period in the spring and summer of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new study by led researchers at Duke University and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
The opioid epidemic in this country has become a lot more devastating over the course of the past two years. This sheet by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences really helps to show how the pandemic led to the opioid crisis becoming more and more of a problem. The COVID lockdowns led to an increase in social isolation, which lead to set off many cases of depression and anxiety. There was also the lack of care for people who were already suffering from addiction and mental health issues. This would lead many of them to go to drugs (especially opioids) that would take pain away.
