Last weekend, G**o Alex, G**o Joy, and Assistant Instructor Janella had the opportunity to attend the FMA Expo hosted by GM Terryl Richardson of DAS MD. A great time was had meeting & working with new people, and of course, being fortunate to learn from amazing FMA instructors!

Maraming Salamat to GM & his school for hosting an amazing event, to GM , Datu , & Tuhon , as well as the additional bonus guest Instructors for imparting wisdom & friendship. Mabuhay!

As we head into Summer, we remember some wonderful opportunities we had to connect with new people!

This past Spring, G**o Joy Gruezo held a Women’s Self Defense class with a group from where she shared insight into violence avoidance, physical safety, as well as creating safe space for expression. She was also invited to participate as a presenter for .nyc at their annual Young Women’s Leadership event, Wellness Warriors. Along with Assistant Instructor Janella Katapang, they educated young women in the community about safety, self-confidence, & also performed a demo (we think the attendees enjoyed that especially!).

This past Sunday, May 19, TSR Kali had the honor of hosting G**o Jay Pugao for his VSCK Largo Mano Eskrima seminar. It was a great turnout that comprised of, not only TSR Kali students, but of students from other schools and systems all under one roof to learn from G**o Jay.
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the FMA community and the preservation of the art.

Wishing the late SGM Vic Sanchez a happy heavenly birthday!

SGM Sanchez was a long time student of GM Benjamin Luna of Lightning Scientific and GM Remy Presas of Modern Arnis. He was a devoted martial artist for decades and even appeared in the classic escrima movie "Sticks of Death (1986)" with another late great, Roland Dantes.

We thank you for your dedication and patience over the years!

Filipino Martial Arts, Friends, and Food! That’s probably the best way to sum up last weekend’s fall joint seminar at Infinity Martial Arts with PG Errol Ballesteros (Ballesteros Kali), PG Alex Gruezo (TSR Kali), and G**o Sachi Villareal (Lightning Scientific).
For the past couple years PG Errol and PG Alex have been doing these joint seminars at Infinity Martial Arts and they have been a great source for FMA knowledge. What’s more they have been a great source of community attracting martial artists of different backgrounds. This time around they brought in guest G**o Sachi Villareal to share his knowledge of Lightning Scientific. This was a real treat for all attendees because G**o Sachi, who started his training at 7, acquired his knowledge directly from his lolo (grandfather), GM Benjamin Luna Lema.
