On Friday, March 1, 2024, No Dream Deferred - NOLA () sounded the alarm and called Black theaters and artists to action– to stand unequivocally in solidarity with oppressed people across the globe, to act in the legacies of those great Black Theaters throughout history that organized & mobilized for liberation, to support social movements, justice and causes of the Diaspora, and to demand an IMMEDIATE and PERMANENT ceasefire in Gaza and a FREE PALESTINE.
viBe is joining No Dream Deferred– NOLA and other Black Theaters across the country in this action. There is no room for neutrality.
So as a participating peer organization in the action, until there is a permanent ceasefire, all content shared across our media channels will be an URGENT reflection of the stories told on our stages and across the world, highlighting ONLY the continued struggle for liberation, the ending of genocide, and the realities of police states.
SAVE THE DATE: Join us for another night of yoga with the phenomenal facilitator, Linda Lopes!

Happy Black Girl Freedom Week!
Hosted by the campaign and Black Girl Freedom Fund, an initiative of Grantmakers for Girls of Color, Black Girl Freedom Week is an annual week-long celebration of, and action for, Black girls and gender-expansive youth. The week showcases what is possible when we invest abundantly in the dreams, power, joy and leadership of Black girls and gender-expansive youth, and when we work together to co-create a future where they are safe, free, and thriving.
viBe believes and encourages all Black girls/femme/gender-nonconforming young people to learn more about this initiative, to take part in this week long celebration AND to have the carefree, happy, thriving lifestyle they so deserve.
This year's theme is: " Black Girl Freedom Week: A Future of Justice and Democracy " !

Happy Black Futures Month! Established in 2015 by the , BFM focuses in on the hard truths (and triumphs) of the Black community's history in America. This month-long celebration calls on all people to make efforts (uncomfortable as some may be) to acknowledge and appreciate the ways Black people have continued to thrive while faced with nearly insurmountable adversity, as well as to continue advocating for the safety and well-being of the community.
The history of black people is happening now, that is why we acknowledge our past, affirm our present, and celebrate our future. We at viBe Theater Experience will continue to sustain safe spaces for the Black femme/gender expansive youth that join our community!

Happy Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
After his passing, a call to turn Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday into a national holiday was made. Since 1970, a majority of the United States celebrate this Black civil rights leader's contributions (and outspokenness) on racial disparities throughout the states, as well as the steps the American people needed to take in order to create a more united nation.
Happy birthday to our Operations Assistant, Kayla Lewis!
It doesn't matter if she's working behind the scenes or heading out to an event, Kayla is always on her grind! We appreciate her and wish for her to have a restful (and fun) birthday!
Though early giving has ended and Giving Tuesday has passed, we are still fundraising for BrooklynGives!
As we near the end of 2023, we’ve taken time to reflect on everything that makes viBe so important. From our programs centered around BIPOC femme/q***r/gender-expansive youth development to our partnerships with local theatres, we have a deep appreciation for all who have decided to support our mission throughout the years!
Now as we partner with Brooklyn Org again this year, we encourage our community members (both old and new) to show their support by donating, amplifying our work, and sharing it with new people.
When you support viBe, you are holding space for young BIPOC artists to fully express their inner thoughts/emotions, as well as create lifelong, fulfilling connections and impactful art.

During this time of global loss, and personal loss, it is important to hold space to process the experiences we go through. It is not easy when life continues to move forward and multiple priorities compete with each other (work, bills, caring for others, etc). This can create a sense of numbness that we don't notice settling in our bodies. Numbness has its use for survival, but it is not a place we should stay complacent in. This workshop will be a combination of somatic work, community discussion, and journaling to move us through grief to experience feeling and joy.
Partnered with Liberation-Based Therapy (Liberation-Based Therapy LCSW, PLLC), viBe (viBe Theater Experience) will be hosting a virtual workshop to process grief and other forms of loss on both a macro and micro scale. Join facilitator Kareem Hewitt as they provide techniques to help us move from numbness to feeling on Friday, December 15th at 7pm EST.
The workshop will be 2 hours and will take place on Friday, December 15th at 7pm EST. Register at the link in our LinkTree. Link in bio.
