âEach type of medium carries a different meaning, visual weight and tension. I combine paint that has a transparent, ethereal quality with sand which feels tangible and carries a greater density. Sand is a physical object, yet its existence is a representation of the passage of time. It is the result of rock erosion and it is a material that continually assembles into new patterns.â - Marina Savashynskaya Dunbar

Elisabeth approach landscape as an artificial construction, simultaneously real and fake. They layer disparate paint applications and sources, scavenging references from vintage wallpapers, glam rock nightclubs, and scrolls.

These fragments and vignettes show information that is edited out by our perception and memory automatically but, unbeknownst to us shapes who we believe to be.

âThe truth is I just really like to paint. Itâs my love language. My own tender and bold way to love life. To find the little moments that mean nothing. Iâm in love with those. Warped by time and body my love prevails. I love the humanity of it all. The heaviness. The fleetingness. The messiness. I love painting but Iâm not a painter. Iâm a lover. Art is just my medium. And if it werenât for love, why bother?â Suzanne
