So I was in the Wall Street Journal for a couple of years before I got into real estate. Prior to that, I was working with Dean Graber at several different mortgage companies. Upon leaving the Wall Street Journal, I went over to a smaller real estate company. I wasn't licensed at the time. I was working in the background, helping agents out. And after getting a check by mistake, I saw how much the agent was getting paid and how much I was getting paid. Over the years, a couple of clients said the same thing: "Hey, we wish you were our agent, we wish you were our agent." It dawned on me, after receiving that check, that it might be time to actually take this seriously and get my license.
And 13 years later, after selling a couple of homes, making a few clients happy, and hosting client events, it's been over 12, close to 13 years now, and I'm still doing this.
