April 27, 2017 I signed the lease on a corner space on Ditmars and 36th Street. All I knew was, I didn’t know what tomorrow was going to bring. I never worked at 60 Beans. I’d only been there a few times as a customer to scope out the place. I didn’t even know what they served or if they had anything prepared for service. I woke up at 5 am to be here on time for my first day of “training” with the staff that was now mine that I’d only met a week earlier.

7 years later, we’re Queen’s Room in Astoria, a neighborhood place with roots that run deep. We are honored to call Ditmars home and for being a part of the fabric of this amazing neighborhood!

Thank You to the staff who started with us, stayed with us, joined us, and made us. Thank You to my King Yiannis for being by my side and running everything behind the scenes. Thank You Astoria. Thank you Ditmars. Thank you to our neighbors and customers who are now our friends. We promise to continue being here for you as you’ve been here for us!

We are thankful to continue working and supporting our friends and neighbors. We are thankful for the health of our staff and our customers. And man oh man are we thankful for Chef Mike’s citrus and herb brined Turkey!

A Queen always leaves behind a legacy.

We were asked today why we have been silent about the current social climate.
The reality of it all is still processing.
But there is no strength in silence, we apologize.

Queen’s Room has always strived to be a welcoming home for everyone that walks through our doors. We will continue to do so by denouncing racism in all of its forms. We understand that the system of oppression we are fighting against was built to treat Black men and women with different standards than the rest of us. We won’t stand for that.

We thank the Astoria community for embracing us fully and we will continue to return that gift with love, compassion and understanding. We are here for you and with you. And we stand united in our belief for change, equity, and justice.

Mother’s Day 2020 Quarantine Edition! Since we can’t take Mom out to Brunch, let us help bring brunch to Mom! We’ve got a one stop shop to help let Mom know how special she is! We were fortunate enough to be able to feed the amazing Doctors and Nurses at Mt. Sinai Hospital right here in our neighborhood! Thank you for all you do, now and always. And thank you for working hard to make sure healthcare workers in our community get taken care of!

With the close of day 2, we are beyond overwhelmed by all the love and support from our community. We are proud and honored to serve everyone cleanly and safely from our front window. Thank you Astoria, we look forward to Day 3 together!
