Pt V // I promise I’m almost done with this madness. A few favourite portraits from the day. Honestly, we left Cara with so little time to take our portraits. Pictures are obviously very important to me but when it came down to the day, me and Devon just really prioritized being with our people and enjoying the day with them. We still took a few moments to sneak off on a Vespa to the top of the olive grove hill with a lovely little view of the castle 🤍

PT IV // ceremony + some details of our Tuscan wedding (Maybe if I’m lucky I’ll finish this series before our one year anniversary…)

We had a simple but immensely meaningful ceremony. Our friend Kris from Malta flew in and it made it so special to us. One of the reasons we wanted to have a smaller wedding was because sharing our vows with our family (our ride or dies) and inviting them into our declaration to love and care for each other another was very important to us.

After the ceremony we had a champagne toast and stepped into the apéritif moment. One of my favourite parts of the day. Italians do it right when it comes to meats and cheeses (and pretty much everything food related). Live music played for us and we all mingled while the sun set over the hillside.

Dinner was in the courtyard where we filled the space with vintage lamps and candles. It was all so lovely and charming 🤍

Headed back to Vermont in a few weeks and I am bursting with excitement. Last fall with D&C was one of the most special experiences I’ve had photographing a wedding and I so looking forward to being back in this magical state🤍

When I asked them what their favourite way to spend a day together was, they said they loved to walk around and enjoy Prospect Park.

For their engagement session we wandered around, people watching, dog watching, enjoying a perfectly warm summer evening.

We landed at a local cocktail bar. Jenny is an architect and Alex works in tech. I think one of the most special things to me about this job is the people I get to know and the little glimpses into their life I get to see. I love learning, I love these opportunities to sit across a little marble table in a dimly lit bar sipping on spritzes and talking for hours with inspiring people whom our paths would typically never cross. Thankful thankful for those who invite me into these small parts of your daily life and ask me to take their portrait.

Pt III // The Wedding Day

The day started off slow and sweet. Me and dev knew we wanted to spend the morning together. He arrived at my door with espresso and we spent some quiets moments together in the sun exchanging gifts and letters. We rode a Vespa around, me still in my pj’s, touring around the hills. Fully present. Soaking in each moment.

We parted ways and me and the girls got ready. The guys spent some time by the pool while the girls snacked on charcuterie and prossecco in the main quarters.

The morning was slow and wonderful. Peaceful but brimming with anticipation and excitement.

Gushing over J & N’s perfectly summer floral filled wedding day. This is my kind of wedding. Trip to Italy Pt II //
The day before the wedding was such a fun one. We went into Florence and the whole group rented vespas that we took for a tour around the countryside. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the memory of looking behind me and seeing my whole family scootin’ along the highway zipping in and out of Fiats. We ended up at a charming little village in Chianti after zooming through fields of vineyards. Post pasta and aperol break, we headed back into the city for dinner. We walked around the busy streets of Florence and had some photographs taken. The night ended after a lovely meal at and drinks out in the city🤍
