This is truly a success story! 67 Greenwich Street has survived it all ever since it was built in 1810!
The Robert Dickey House in Lower Manhattan was part of a stretch of Federal style homes that filled this area. It even had a rear yard and carriage house behind it. It was one of the first construction booms for the wealthy after British occupation, getting away from the busy village that was more heavily crowded toward the East River.

As its neighbors succumbed to the great fire of 1845, street widening, construction and deconstruction of elevated rail lines, the digging of subway tunnels on both sides of it, the construction of the Battery Tunnel, and 9/11, #67 Greenwich survived!

Now fully restored, it's now part of a school that also occupies its new, and much larger neighbor, 77 Greenwich, that's responsible for the restoration. It's one of only 2 Federal style townhouses remaining in Manhattan with a bowed facade (rear).
