On Wednesday, July 17th Worker's Justice Project conducted a multi-stop Road to Justice Caravan with elected officials, advocates, and Laborers Local 1010 to confront employers across the city over $100,000 in unpaid wages for immigrant workers.
Wednesday's event was the first in a series of "On the Road to Justice" campaign events conducted by WJP throughout the summer to demand justice for victims of labor exploitation and to build solidarity among migrants across industries to ensure they collectively and fearlessly lift their voices in demand of their rights.
Local 1010 Laborers are always working hard building NYC from the ground up. Your hard work is always appreciated, please hydrate and be safe out there! For more information visit www.osha.gov/heat

Laborers' Local 1010 joined Riders Alliance and a coalition of transit-advocates for the campaign launch to bring improved public transit along Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.
Efficient transit is essential for our communities' growth and prosperity. Improved and expanded transit options can bring economic stability to more community members, which come from the good, family-sustaining, union jobs these projects create.

Joined by DCWP Commissioner Vilda Vera Mayuga, Local 1010 members and their union brothers and sisters helped to ensure that this information reaches those who need it. Our communities are better equipped to fight back against unsafe and exploitative workplace practices when they are educated on their rights.
