Kamala Harris has a long history of standing with SEIU members, speaking at our convention in Philadelphia this past May. As part of the Biden-Harris Administration, she appointed a pro-union U.S. Department of Labor, pro-union National Labor Relations Board and pro-worker OSHA.
Vice President Kamala Harris has taken action to support economic growth that benefits working people, not corporations. The Biden-Harris economy has positioned us to win historic contracts for 32BJ SEIU members over the last four years across sectors. We have created more full-time jobs in our communities, added new pension benefits for part-time workers, won unprecedented wage increases, and much more.
Following President Joe Biden’s decision to leave the presidential race, the SEIU and 32BJ Executive Boards have voted to endorse Kamala Harris for President. Now is the time to build on the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic pro-union legacy!
When we have a pro-worker president, we win!

Five years ago, our beloved President Hector J. Figueroa passed away. Today, we reflect on Hector’s legacy and the profound impact he had on our union, our members, and the labor movement as a whole.
Hector was more than his title; he was a visionary, a champion for workers’ rights, and a steadfast advocate for justice. He was also a friend, colleague, a husband, and a father. His commitment to improving the lives of working people and his unwavering dedication to our mission continues to inspire us every day. Under Hector’s leadership, 32BJ grew in membership and reputation, becoming known as a force for positive change.
In honor of Hector, we reaffirm our commitment to the values he embodied - solidarity, equity, and compassion - and we continue to fight to improve the lives of our members and working people and our fight for a just and equitable society for all.
This 4th of July, we reflect on the powerful legacy of labor in shaping the freedoms and rights we enjoy today.
As union members, we know that standing with each other is how we have won better wages and benefits that allow us to build better lives for our families. By staying united with one another, we will continue to make our country stronger and better and a place where all working people can thrive.
It’s a Solidarity BBQ in NYC!
Essential workers at 345 7th Ave are working under an EXPIRED labor contract.
We demand 7th City Realty negotiate a fair new labor contract that upholds labor standards that have lifted thousands of NYC working class and immigrant families toward the middle class.
As Justice for Janitors month closes and the campaign for Connecticut commercial security officers opens, cleaners from Hartford to Stamford have gathered to show their solidarity for a strong new agreement for their co-workers. One union, one fight!
Massachusetts rideshare drivers scored a huge win today! The MA supreme court gave the green light for our collective bargaining rights to be on the ballot in November. Now it's up to the elected officials to hear us and pass the Rideshare Drivers Justice Bill this week, just like Chiem and thousands of drivers are urging them to do. Drivers need our union NOW
Congratulations to all the members who received their diplomas at the Boston office this weekend, in the 32BJ Training Fund's first-ever graduation ceremony for New England District 615! Over 120 members were honored for completing classes in Citizenship, English language, CPR and/or computers over the past year. Thanks also to Boston City Councilors At-Large Julia Mejia and Henry Santana for making the event extra special with their presentations!

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that represents freedom, liberation, and inclusion.
We at 32BJ will continue to embody the principles that are at the core and essence of the celebration.
Today, Massachusetts rideshare drivers for apps like Uber and Lyft are took to the streets and rallied at the State House to celebrate drivers’ successful collection of thousands of signatures necessary to take their fight for union rights to the ballot this fall.
We – a coalition led by rideshare drivers, labor, and community groups – have gathered enough voter signatures to put a question on the ballot this fall that would let voters decide, at long last, to grant rideshare drivers their union rights! Drivers and allies spoke out on the steps of the State House to say loud and clear that Massachusetts drivers will win a union, by bill or ballot!

Happy Father’s Day
Today, we welcomed U.S. Senators Murphy and Blumenthal, and FTC Chair Khan to our Hartford office for a roundtable at the 32BJ Hartford office for a roundtable on the harmful effects of "restrictive covenant" clauses. We thank all of them for their work to end non-compete clauses, both with FTC rules and proposed federal legislation!
High stress, manipulative practices, and low earnings, this isn't how it should be for + drivers! A strong union is the best way to ensure equitable conditions and fair compensation. Read more: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2023/10/17/business/uber-lyft-drivers-massachusetts-minimum-wage/

Workers at Boston’s 100 Sudbury St. luxury rental tower face an uncertain future. They rallied to demand the union standard from employers and building owners.
“I don’t know where I will find a new job, but I also don’t know how to live on what they are offering,” said Jesus Cuello, a cleaner at the luxury tower. “I also worry about changes to our health insurance, which allowed my wife to beat cancer and begin her recuperation.”
32BJ Assistant to the President says owners Carmel Partners, HYM Investment Group, & National Real Estate Advisors should “maintain a responsible contractor that retains the current cleaning crew with area standard wages, benefits, and working conditions.” “There is no reason for this kind of shameful treatment of hardworking people who provide essential services.”
Boston City Councilor Henry Santana stood with the 100 Sudbury cleaners for protecting their wages & the jobs they been dedicated to for years.
Thanks to all the graduates of 32BJ’s Social Justice Leadership Academy from across the East Coast who joined union staff and officers outside Baltimore this weekend. There, they took a deep dive into how to move forward on racial justice, immigration reform, union rights, healthcare access, reproductive freedom and so much more, by supporting the best presidential candidate on these and other issues essential to the progress of working people, President Joe Biden.
Happy ! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
