Dear Parish Family,

I write to inform you that after 17 wonderful years at Sacred Heart / St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Cardinal Dolan has appointed me as the pastor of Our Lady of the Angels in Kingsbridge, the Bronx, effective July 1, 2021. I know this will come as a surprise to many of you since my twelve-year pastoral term, begun in 2010, should have ended in 2022. However, when I was ordained a priest by Cardinal Egan, I promised that I would remain obedient to him and his successors and that I would serve the Archdiocese of New York, wherever and whenever I was needed.

Please know that I am grateful to God for the opportunity to have walked with you all these years from the time of my ordination in 2004; Sacred Heart and St. Francis will always have a special place in my heart as my first parish. Also know that you have had an essential role in forming me into the joy-filled priest that I am today. For that, I will be eternally grateful to each of you and miss you very much.

My final Mass as your pastor will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 1 PM and will be bilingual. Please feel free to stop by the school auditorium afterwards for a little wine and cheese and to say goodbye.

As soon as Cardinal Dolan confirms the name of your new pastor, I will update you. I know that you will receive him with the same warmth and love that you provided for me all these years.
