Piano Night with Jan Deats is a highly-anticipated annual event at Summertrios. Whether playing or listening, Jan's Master Class is informative and deeply engaging. This year, Piano Night focused on Bagatelles by Beethoven (op. 32,33,119,126, WoO 56) and Tcherepnin (op.5) 🎹
Piano night starts with Jan's in-depth discussion on each composer, sharing details of their life, work, and musical career. Then, participants perform works by each featured composer. Whether you're just delving into classical music or a historical buff, you will surely learn something at piano night!

Welcome Summertrios Intensive Week participants! 🎶✨❤📯🎹🎻
We hope your week is off to a great start!
Did you know? Our last two featured Summertrios coaches, George and David, have been friends and colleagues for years! 🎶
George says: "We have been travel buddies now since 1999! We both work for the AIMS Festival in Graz, Austria and always go on little trips together while there. We have been friends since about 1993 or so from when we both lived in Philadelphia. There seems to always be a martini in our hands when we have downtime!"
Fun story from George: "David and I were playing for the Santo Domingo Music Festival in the Dominican Republic, and we were playing either Stravinsky or Ravel. Our conductor, Maestro Philippe Entremont, was trying to get a brass player to play at the right time after the bass drum solo and says to them with his thick French accent, “Wait for zee boom!” We often reflect upon that statement."
