Semibreve'23 — Dia 1: Clarice Jensen, o chiaroscuro da fragilidade humana - Rimas e Batidas Está aberta mais uma temporada do festival de música electrónica e arte digital de Braga.
Thank you to everyone who has listened to my music this year! Thrilled to have been a part of such a great year of music.
Thank you to The Quietus for including my Semibreve performance in your coverage!
"While elements of her playing resemble what could be called neo-classical music, the sheer level of mutation escapes the cello’s limitations and histories to become the sonic equivalent of a magic eye picture." - Daryl Worthington
The Quietus | Features | Three Songs No Flash | Cosmic Dance: Semibreve 2023 Reviewed Braga’s Semibreve Festival returns stronger than ever, with a curation of acts including Emeralds, Pedro Cunha, Loraine James and Inês Malheiro, who push the boundaries, expectations and confines of some unexpected performance settings

It was an honor to join the lineup of incredible musicians at SEMIBREVE. Thank you to everyone who came to see the performance.
Cellists and musicians, a public service announcement. is not musician friendly. On the phone with an agent, I purchased a seat for my cello and two for travelers , flying Tallinn to Berlin on Oct 19 for a concert that evening. When purchasing the flights, I supplied the cello’s dimensions and weight to the agent. At the airport, I was told no cellos are allowed on the plane and my only option was to check it, which I refused. As a result, had to take a ferry to Helsinki and a late flight to Berlin, incurring considerable additional cost and anxiety, a 13 hour travel day and a lousy and rushed soundcheck. , super thankyou for the generous compensation of €61.60 , apparently the cost of three one-way tickets from Tallinn to Helsinki ! FYI I continue to follow up on the additional compensation I’ve requested; booking reference : JCPNHG (And PS the third slide is of my cello strapped in to a very small twin-turboprop regional United jet with even plenty of room for the seat in front to recline)

Throwback to January when ACME: American Contemporary Music Ensemble gave the world premiere of my piece, “The Exaltation of Inanna,” at The Morgan Library & Museum!
So happy that my piece "Joy" was included in Classical KC's latest episode of Sound Currents! The episode, which explored the connection between music and emotions, also featured works by Nahyun Kim, Shelley Washington, and Ben Yee-Paulson. What great company!
Sascha Groschang is hosting a terrific show; we were stand partners back in the days of KC Youth Symphony ! Listen to the full episode below:
Where music meets the mind, with composer Nahyun Kim From anger and sadness to joy and euphoria, our emotions help carry us and inform our view of the world. On this episode of Sound Currents, explore the connection between music and the emotions they can elicit.
It's a blast to be on tour with Balmorhea this month. Here's a few photos from our performances in Turkey this past week!
The soundtrack to HBO's Burden of Proof has officially been released into the world. Thank you to Chuck Johnson for inviting me to play.
Burden of Proof is an intricate glimpse into a teenage girl's disappearance in 1987, her brother's search for the truth, and the reality of trauma and healing within these narratives.
