THURSDAY
NYC
Fight back against Uganda’s deadly anti-LGBT law. The EU’s inaction is inexcusable.

RSVP: bit.ly/RepealAHA23

04/22/2023

Uganda’s anti-LGBTQ+ bill would make being LGBTQ+ or being perceived as LGBTQ+ a criminal act. It calls for:
▪️life in prison for same-sex acts between consenting adults
▪️the death penalty for “aggravated homosexuality”
▪️20 years in prison for the “promotion of homosexuality”
▪️10 years in prison for “attempted homosexuality” and
▪️6 months in prison or a fine of $28,000 for failing to report someone believed to violate any provision of the bill

Uganda’s response would be devastated. Lifesaving HIV services would become crimes. And frontline service providers would become criminals.

This is a global emergency. Join the global day of action on Tuesday and answer the call for solidarity to fight back! ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏾✊🏼

A New Shot Guards Against H.I.V., but Access for Africans Is Uncertain 09/28/2022

Long-acting injectable PrEP has the potential to be a game-changer, but ViiV's pricing strategy is obstructing access. Any day lost in expanding access to this scientific innovation is measured in preventable infections.

Read this important piece from Stephanie Nolen in the New York Times, including analysis from our Executive Director, Asia Russell.

A New Shot Guards Against H.I.V., but Access for Africans Is Uncertain An injection every two months rather than a daily pill could shield many more women from the virus, but it is unavailable in places that need it most.
