This weekend our amazing OT's continued their educational studies & participated in a sensorimotor workshop led by the "King of Swings"Alex Lopiccolo!
:
Alex offered practical ideas using suspension and non-suspension equipment to implement treatment interventions in the clinic, at school or at home.
:
By the end of the class, our OT's were better able to understand the importance of vestibular, proprioceptive, and tactile integration as it relates to postural development, balance and physical development & participate in activities that support sensory development!!

When he is not treating as a full-time Sensory Integration Therapy practitioner he travels around the world sharing his knowledge of sensorimotor therapy with OTs and students at pediatric clinics and universities. He especially enjoys designing and installing home sensory gyms to help his young clients at home.

Neva Muehlbauer!

❤️ Neva was born and raised on Long Island but fell in love with upstate New York during her college years at Ithaca College, where she received her bachelors and masters degrees. Neva relocated to the Warwick area permanently in 2005, where she lives with her husband, Ryan, and two children, Stella and Miles.

🧡 Neva has been an integral part of Pediatric OT Solutions since 2006 and has seen the practice grow over the years.

💛 Even from an early age, Neva knew she was born to be an occupational therapist. She would often accompany her mother to work at a special needs preschool. These early experiences have been refined over the years to produce the well-rounded and confident OT that Neva is today.

💚 Neva is a master at helping children meet their fullest potential, and she loves seeing a child accomplish new tasks that were previously unattainable or hearing a parent report on the small successes of daily life.

💙 When not working at POTS, you can find Neva spending time in her garden, tending to her chickens, throwing pottery, reading, running, and spending time with her family.

💜 Neva is also a proud member of the Pine Island Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Originally from Orange County, New York, Laura received her Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from Rockland Community College, Suffern, NY and her Bachelor’s Degree from Dominican College, Orangeburg, NY.

The owner/founder of Pediatric OT Solutions (POTS) in Chester, New York, and Wappingers Falls, New York, Laura has worked with the pediatric population since 1995 in Early Intervention, schools, and private practice. Laura is SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test) Certified and has extensive training in:

• Ayres Sensory Integration®
• Therapeutic Listening
• Reflex Integration
• Handwriting Without Tears®
• Yoga for Children
• The Alert Program

She and the staff of POTS also train Occupational Therapy students from several colleges.

Her daughter has always been Laura’s greatest teacher and her family provides the roots from which POTS has grown and flourished.

Sunday April 2nd 10am is now the official date of the Easter Egg Hunt with everything else remaining the same. Please share. The event will start at the sound of the police 👮‍♂️siren 🚨 , not before. Officer E.Bunny is on duty with candy and cuffs for all those good or bad. See you then.
