❓There are two general stages: rapid eye movement (REM) and non-REM.
Non-REM sleep is further broken down into 3 stages.
Each stage is essential, which is why scheduling enough time to sleep is crucial.

⚠️ Sleep is critically important. Not just for feeling good, but also for being healthy. Poor sleep quality is a significant problem for many people; it’s even more widespread than struggling to lose weight. When you don’t sleep enough, obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and even death occur earlier.
We’re all unique. Many clinical studies have shown people need 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep for the body to repair itself. Some people may need slightly less or more, but research strongly suggests getting at least 7 hours a night.
Good quality sleep means you get sufficient hours and go through the three stages of sleep: deep sleep connected to REM sleep and light sleep. All these sleep elements reset and repair your immune system and protect your health.
Remember, sleep isn't a luxury—it's a necessity for a vibrant, healthy life. Make it a priority and watch how it transforms your well-being.

When your cells become less sensitive to the hormone insulin, that means they can’t easily take up the glucose from your blood. They become “insulin resistant.” Your pancreas responds by making more and more insulin to clear the sugar from your blood. Poor insulin sensitivity leads to chronically high glucose, which increases the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Our clients at the Comite Center wear continuous glucose monitors to keep track of their glucose and learn to prevent the significant fluctuations that can cause damage. CGMs help put you in the driver’s seat so you can improve your insulin sensitivity with the techniques listed above.
