I'm so glad to have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of music. My ideal music world wouldn't be complete if I were only doing one style of music. Perhaps my career (such as it is) would be easier if I were just focused in one direction, but then I feel like I would miss out on wonderful stuff that doesn't present itself to someone who just stays in one lane. I'm proud to be a co-writer on this latest Empire of the Sun album and this is the latest video release for "Happy Like You" Working with Nico George Littlemore Nick Littlemore and Luke Steele and co is always interesting! Who Are The Guests?
Maybe they are this pair of vocalist and pianist coming to visit your living room, or maybe The Guests are all of the songwriters and iconic artists from whence this duo draws their material. With a deep appreciation for the legacy of great songs and grooves, well-known master songstress Lucy Woodward along with dynamic collaborator creative pianist Henry Hey invite you to pull up a cozy chair for an energetic yet intimate evening. Drawing from their own expansive professional experience as songwriters and performers, Lucy and Henry will share classic songs from the deep well of writers such as David Bowie, Hoagy Carmichael and others and will add their own contributions on top. Wow! This was an incredible week, working with students and other mentors at the workshop in Novo Mesto Slovenia. The spirit of the students, the knowledge and giving attitude of the fellow mentors and the selfless work of the organizers was truly inspiring. It was wonderful to teach alongside old friends such as and Jim Black, as well as meeting incredible new friends such as Robert Jukič and . Thanks so much to for your leadership and to for always helping us! Thank you to the students for being so open to learning. Inspiring!!

I’ve only been in Europe since Friday and it’s been lovely. and I performed as in Harderwijk, NL at the beautiful for the series. Harderwijk is a beautiful 13th century town by a lake. Back in Rotterdam, Lucy and introduced me to Eritrean food. Amazing! Now we are in and joining other mentors for a week of the workshop. I’ve had a great time catching up with my old buddy . Can’t wait to hear him play in person again this week.

For those who don't know this project, this is an acoustic duo that is entirely focused on great songs. As songwriters ourselves, Lucy and I share the idea that a great song can reveal it's best qualities in the most simple of settings, so we strip songs down and reinvent them for our duo.

I actually sing quite a big with this project and although voice(s) and piano could seem like cabaret, this definitely is NOT Cabaret. We play plenty of rock and roll as well as a few selected songbook classics.

For those of you who are new to The Guests, this is a project based on the stripped down nature of THE SONG in its native, most honest and simplest of settings. You hear every crevice of the song this way so each word, note, emotion - counts. This is not a power ballad set. This is not a cabaret act. This is The Guests. Its own thing. 🤸
