UEAA - United East Athletics Association

The 2024 Dragon Boat team is proud to be the first to represent the UEAA organization at an international level Dragon Boat event at Ravenna, Italy. We're going in with excitement and anticipation of strong competition! There are 163 clubs from 30 different countries competing across different divisions. The UEAA team itself is composed of 16 members, racing in 12 person boats ( 10 paddlers, drummer, and steerer with 4 alternate paddlers to swap in ), with experience ranging from 2 years, to 18 years. We're racing in the premiere small boat mixed divison ( half men, half women ). It's guided by a team of experienced coaches, among them being Jenny Yu, with Team USA racing experience under her belt. We are extremely happy with our first race, a distance of 2000m, placing third in our heat. We look forward to our 200m races and 500m races in the coming days. We're racing against many strangers, but among them are many friends that we've made connections with, and forging many new relationships with new friends as we compete! We feel the love and support of our teammates, friends, and family back on the east coast!

美東體育會主辦的「夏日繽紛星期六」活動在不知不覺間與小朋友跳跳蹦蹦已30年！這活動原意是在盛夏的星期六，為新來的小移民權充「保母」，給他們一些免費的群體康樂和益智課程的活動，更作為一種服務社區的理想。我們從來沒有想到，由初時3班課程會演變到現今差不多30班，從初時40多名學生和十數義工，轉輾已有200名以上的學生和過百義工的規模。
從以上的數據，可知出出入入的人數和轉變確是不少，但最令人鼓舞的莫如看到為數不少本來是繽紛學生的已轉變為義工，本來是義工已轉變為繽紛家長，而在瞬間第二代的繽紛竟已開始慢慢被栽培著！繽紛活動能有這樣的凝聚力，當然是離不開為社區服務的宗旨，但最重要的是我們的活動是灌輸著一種分享的交流。那些膂力盛的義工，這活動會驅使他們去提攜幼小；那些學有所專的義工，這活動會驅使他們去教導小朋友，讓人人能循著天份分享他們的專長。
當然，那些擁有資源的義工、家長和贊助商，亦因這分享精神，給這活動無條件地長久支持，使之永遠繽紛，更是無可量度的力量！

The "Summer Fun Fun Saturday" program, organized by the United East Athletics Association, has been a vibrant and dynamic initiative engaging children for 30 years. Originally intended to serve as a Saturday "nanny" for newly arrived immigrant children during mid-summer, this program has provided free group recreation and educational courses, serving the community in an exemplary manner. What began with just three classes has now grown to nearly 30, expanding from over 40 students and dozens of volunteers to over 200 students and more than 100 volunteers.
These figures reflect significant growth and transformation. Most encouragingly, many former Fun-Fun students have become volunteers, and former volunteers have become Fun-Fun parents, cultivating the second generation of Fun-Fun participants. The program's cohesion and success are deeply rooted in its community-serving purpose and the nurturing of a spirit of sharing. Physically strong volunteers assist and help the young, while knowledgeable volunteers teach the children, enabling everyone to share their talents.
This spirit of sharing also inspires volunteers, parents, and sponsors with resources to provide unconditional and long-term support, ensuring the program's continued success and remarkable impact.

美東體育會乒乓球員與福州僑團乒乓隊友誼賽！

The UEAA Dragon Boat team has made some huge accomplishments the last month, racing at the Baltimore race, and at the Montreal Canada race!

First, at Baltimore, we went head to head against several tough North East based teams from DC and Philadelphia, earning first in the 200m and second in both the 500m and 2000m.

Second, at Montreal, we brought our crew for the World Championships to get some 10 crew boat experience in preparation for Italy. We entered two boats for our team. We had an unprecedented weekend of races, against very strong competition, and our practice and commitment paid off with three gold medal wins, for winning the 200m, 500m, and 2000m races!

We still have tons of work to do, and still have a lot of room for growth, before our competition in Italy!

美東體育會小足經過兩個多月來的4隊循環聯賽，在5/19日藍隊由John教練帶領下，戰勝由教練Ryan帶領下的紅隊。今次在這聯賽中，表現得最有進步的Most Improved Players, 是灰隊的Jax, 黑隊的Leon, 紅隊的Vincent 和藍隊的Charlotte, 而MVP 卻由Jacobs 奪得。恭喜這班𡚒勇到底的小朋友！

Requirements: Students must be between 7-15 years old by 12/31/2024. Only parents and legal guardians can register students.

This year’s program will run from 6/22/24 - 8/17/24. See you there ☀️

☀️We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate volunteers that are willing to become class assistants. Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain community service hours, be part of fun events, and meet new friends ☀️

If you are willing to teach students your craft or skill— whether academic, athletic or creative, we are looking for instructors as well!
