While we’re celebrating our seniors in our stories, let’s shout out our amazing teachers and staff! We all got together for a rooftop end-of-year celebration over the weekend and we couldn’t be luckier in terms of the amazing team we get to work with every day!

So thrilled to celebrate our amazing graduating seniors … and this year there are FIFTEEN of them! Check out our instagram stories over the next week as we share just a bit about what makes each of them so special to us! Next year they will be heading to college all over the country (and beyond!), including to some of the countries top dance programs! So proud of all of them! 📸: .photography

What a weekend! 3 days … 7 shows … 190 dances … over a 1000 dancers … and a whole lot of fun had by all! Congratulations dancers on the work you put in over the year and everything you brought to the stage over the weekend! So proud of you all! 📸: .nyc

Show 1 done! And it rocked! A big congratulations to Isabella Grifo, the 2024 winner of the Tessie Award. The Tessie Award is given in memory of Tess Burstein, one of our amazing DDF dancers. Isabella truly represents the wonderful values that this award celebrates – positivity, community, generosity, and a joy in dancing. Also a big thank you to Schuyler and Otis, Tessie‘s brother and sister, who presented the award to Isabella.

As we approach our last competition of the season, we wanted to shout out our newest and littlest competition team members! Our mini duo - Maya & Adriana - competed for the first time at Reverb competition and not only came FIRST OVERALL, but got the highest score of any dance in their whole age division! Well done girls! And we just love to see our older dancers looking after the littles and our littles looking up to our seniors!

Throwback to Reverb Competition - such a fun time and such success for our dancers! So many awards including “Best Technique” Studio Award and the “Reverb Award” for Top Scoring Studio in all our age divisions. Also 1st Place Soloists in all our age divisions (Willow - Junior, Willa - Teen, Charlie - Senior) and all seven “Smash Hit” Awards of the whole competition (for only scores above 97%) went to DDF! Well done all!

Last week DDF was so thrilled to be a featured on the stage of NYC’s iconic Joyce Theater at the NYCDA Foundation’s “Destiny Rising” show. Our dancers performed alongside top professional companies such as Complexions Contemporary Ballet, ABT Studio Company, Parsons Dance and Sidra Bell Dance New York, and some of the nation’s elite college dance programs - Pace University Commercial Dance and University of Arizona Dance. In two fabulous pieces choreographed by our wonderful DDF teacher and choreographer Al Blackstone, our dancers did us proud! So thankful to have been chosen as one of just two dance studio to be a part of such an amazing event. "If You Only Knew", performed by DDF’s Company Orange at Jump Philadelphia. This beautiful piece, choreographed by James Washington won "Best of Jump", "Best in Studio", "You Rocked Jump" Award, 1st Overall Senior Group, and was the top scoring of all senior lyrical pieces. We were so proud to have these dancers represent us in the Jump closing show.

A big shoutout to DDF alum who is now an NBA dancer with the Milwaukee ! Maddie is a student at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and travels to Milwaukee for every game and practice, performing at every home game, primarily doing hip hop, which is her fave! So proud of you Maddie!

DDF's competition production numbers include all 45 of our team dancers - from age 10 through 18! So proud of their performance of "Would I Lie to You" at JUMP competition in Philadelphia, last weekend. It was rewarded with: 1st Place Teen Production, Top Scoring Teen Jazz number, "You Rocked Jump" Award, "Best of Jump" Award! Choreographed by DDF Artistic Director Hanne Larsen ... enjoy!

What an amazing weekend of dancing at Jump Philadelphia! Our dancers had a blast and did us proud, as always! A truly amazing start to the season and a fitting celebration of DDF’s 15th year!

It’s our pleasure and our privilege to see our dancers grow up before our eyes. These 3 dancers won 1st Overall for their Junior Contemporary Trio this weekend. They’ll all been with us since they were Kindi dancers. Check out the flashback photo to their very first trio when they were just littles!

These eight DDF dancers are all senior dance majors at LaGuardia High School. To see them on stage in their Senior Winter Dance Showcase was nothing short of amazing! We could not be more proud! So many of them have been at DDF since they took their very first steps and now they are ready to launch Into their futures. Well done Charlie, Kai, Gracie, Ingrid, Ryan, Sadie, Serena, and Zoe.

What a fantastic four days spent at 24/7 Dance Convention and Competition in Meadowlands! Congratulations to all our DDF dancers on their amazing performances both on stage in competition and also at convention! A big congratulations soloists who placed in the Top 10: Sadie, Ryan, Bea, Casey, Willa, Cici, Isabella, Sydney and Willow! And to our amazing trios & groups! And all our scholarship winners, especially our Non-Stop dancer winners Casey, Willa and Sydney! What a fabulous time was had by all! Thank you 24 Seven Dance Convention.

Congratulations to DDF dancer Willow on her performances as Marie (Clara) in the New York City Ballet Nutracker! Willow also studies Ballet at The School of American Ballet. Your DDF family is so proud of you!

Congratulations to DDF dancer and 2024 Young Arts Winner Charlie Head! is prestigious competition that recognizes the top high schoolers in arts from across the Nation. Charlie was recognized as a Winner with Distinction in Jazz, with his solo choreographed by DDF’s AND as a Winner in Modern/Contemporary. What an honor… We are so proud of you Charlie!
