NYC's Home for Live Music! The Groove is the only place in New York City to hear live R&B, Funk, Soul, & more 6 nights a week.
What started off as a group of talented musicians jamming at the legendary 101 bar in the early 90's has evolved into a roster of rotating house bands comprised of the best musicians and performers in the city. Sure, the bands have changed slightly over the years, but as musicians have come and gone, the thing that remains consistent is the talent and passion of our musicians.

Just Announced 📣 Quinn Sullivan Live at Groove on August 23| 6PM Doors, 7PM Show
Twenty four-year-old Quinn Sullivan came to prominence as a young guitar virtuoso who, after a chance encounter with Buddy Guy at the age of 8, would go on to become a buzzed-about blues phenom.
When it came time to write and record his fifth album, Salvation, the singer-songwriter-guitarist was processing the sudden passing of his mother. The resulting 11-track album is his most personal. Salvation honors Quinn’s musical roots while forging his path forward as an emotive and engaging singer-songwriter.

📣 Just Announced | Joseph Terrell + Blue Cactus | Friday, April 5
Joseph Terrell
Most widely known by music fans as a member of the indie-Americana band Mipso, Terrell is well-accustomed to pushing the boundaries of traditional genres into new musical territory. On his first solo record, Good for Nothing Howl (2023, Sleepy Cat Records), this spirit of artistic exploration and expansion reaches new depths. The album has received praise from several tastemakers including No Depression, Americana UK, and Atwood Magazine, with Indy Week applauding, “Awash in mystical sound and symbolism...the lyrics are some of the best of Terrell’s career.”
Blue Cactus:
Blue Cactus, the North Carolina duo of Steph Stewart and Mario Arnez, make Dream Country: a blend of grit, glitz, groove, and twang that evokes a celestial soundscape of mid-century heartbreak and harkens comparisons eclectic and iconic as Bobbie Gentry, Fleetwood Mac, and David Bowie.
On Tuesday, March 19th Kevin Scott (Govt Mule, Wed-Night Titans, Jimmy Herring), Shawn Pelton (SNL Band, Daryl Hall, The Cringe), Henry Hey (Forq, Rudder, David Bowie), and Rick Lollar (Jimmy Herring, Weisshund, Jamison Ross) are coming to Groove for a night of genre bending compositions and improvised music. Live at Groove in Greenwich Village!

📣 Just Announced: Artur Menezes live at Groove | May 7th
Brazilian Artur Menezes has made serious waves in the blues community ever since he released his debut album, Early to Marry, in 2010. His playing is a distinctive blend of fiery, hard-rocking blues that at times borders on shred, combined with an ability to effortlessly switch gears into swinging, jazz grooves.
His Brazilian roots add a unique flavor to the mix and further distinguish his playing from that of his contemporaries. Menezes' songwriting sparkles as it switches between straight-ahead blues and funk-flavored workouts, and his vocals channel the deep emotional content of his songs as effectively as his guitar playing.

Just announced 📢 David Huggins - March 2, 2 SETS 9:30 & 11:30PM
David Higgins writes about intimately relatable coupling themes of life, love and loss. His debut single “Say It Out Loud” is a piano-driven, finger-snapping, upbeat tune about finding one’s own voice in a relationship. “‘Say It Out Loud’ is about wanting to be honest in a relationship but still wanting to play your cards right, and not be too forthright”, says Higgins. Next up is the pulsing anthem entitled “Kings & Queens”, another relationship song with a decidedly optimistic bent. With more music planned for release in 2020 and 2021, Higgins’ musical career began as a love for performance art but has morphed into a love for connecting to friends and fans through music, and creating special moments for his audience and himself.
