What is our fundraiser “For the Girls” raising money towards? 👀

from MSF Fellow, Umme Mazumder who is mentoring young girls at-risk of child marriage through our programming in Bangladesh:

“I am excited to announce that I have completed my fellowship at the Mai Soli Foundation. Over the past six months, I had the privilege of teaching high school girls about financial literacy, leadership, confidence, and entrepreneurship. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to re-discover my passion for teaching and mentoring. Being part of the fight against child marriage, a social plague that has ruined countless young girls’ lives, has been a significant accomplishment of this journey. I’m proud to contribute to this important cause and help empower these young girls.”

Join Umme and countless young girls in the fight towards ending child marriage! All proceeds from the networking event goes directly the education of our girls! ✨

Why should you buy a ticket for “For the Girls” besides it being the event of the summer and an exclusive networking fundraiser? ☀️💰

100% of ticket proceeds will be going directly towards girls education in South Asia 👏🏽👩🏾‍🏫

“Today marks the end of my exceptional journey as a mentor at Mai Soli Foundation. These last six months has been an amazing experience… Each Saturday, I felt immense joy as I headed to the school to meet my girls. The strong bond fostered by Mai Soli among us is unbreakable. Today while leaving, when my girls tearfully asked, “Apu, when will you come back?” I wished in my heart that this moment had not come so quickly. I wanted to stay with them; they had become like sisters to me. I am extremely proud of my girls for coming this far!🫶🏻”

Our MSF girls are busy this summer completing the feedback form on how the 2024 girls empowerment program has been going for them! ⭐️

Our fulfillment as an organization comes from our girls expressing that they’re enjoying the curriculum and learning new things every day. 📖

The girls expressed that they’ve never had the opportunity to learn these skills related to entrepreneurship & self-advocacy in their current school’s programming. 📒

We deeply value our girls’ feedback and adjust accordingly to maximize their success rate following the program 😍🔥✨

Photos from Mai Soli Foundation's post 06/05/2024

Our MSF girls in Bangladesh have been taking the program by storm! 🌪️

Pictured: the girls excitedly planning and presenting ideas for Community Building Day-1. They collaborated to create group chants and design flags that symbolize their unity. It’s been amazing to see the girls express their creativity and learn about building community with teamwork! Both skills that are essential for being an entrepreneur and a leader. 💪🏽✨

They represent our future; and it is so bright 😍☀️

A Mother’s Day Tribute to the inspiration behind our Foundation, Syeda. 🌹

A resilient woman, who raised her two beautiful daughters in a world filled with circumstances that were constantly working against her.

From being victim to a toxic child marriage to breaking out of the cycle of poverty that so many young brides are left to survive in; Syeda created the life she and her daughters deserved through her talent and dedication.

Our founder Aria’s mother is the catalyst of our organization, the reason our mission to end child marriage is so personal to all of us. Through her strong will, discipline and hope for her future, Aria’s mother was able to set an example for not only her daughters, but towards all of us with mothers in our lives who never had the luxury of breaking free of their shackles. 🕊️

To celebrating this day and everyday, Happy Mother’s Day to this role model of a woman and all the mothers across the globe. ❤️🌍

The Mai Soli Foundation had the incredible opportunity to host a Fireside Chat at Harvard University, with TV Host, model, author, and activist; Padma Lakshmi. ✨

During the chat, we discussed her personal and professional journey towards her success story as a South Asian woman in a male dominated industry.

Our Founder and moderator of the chat, Aria, and Padma connected through their shared history of child marriage in their families and their uniform decision to ultimately use their voices to break that cycle and empower women to fight for their futures. 🕊️

It was inspiring to hear that although her grandmother had been a victim of child marriage, Padma’s grandmother still encouraged her to strive for excellence, being the inspiration for Padma’s advocacy towards Women’s Health. Padma pushes to empower not only young women, but equal representation as well. 🤞🏾

Thank you for joining us and being a source of empowerment around the globe! 🌎

Since our first edition was so popular last year, we had to bring it back!!

✨Women in History: Education Activist Edition ✨

This Women’s History Month, we honor the resilience of all of the women around the world 🌎 fighting to stay alive and fighting to keep their children close. 💔

We recognize the privilege that us, in the west, have in holding our loved ones tightly. And most importantly, we strive to continue our work in advocating for the futures of girls everywhere and putting an end to child marriage. 🛑

The Mai Soli Foundation is rooted in our dedication to. intersectional feminist values; where we prioritize what empowerment looks like for an individual respective to their context, culture, religion, and circumstances. 🫡

World Hijab Day has the mission to combat prejudice against Muslim women through awareness, education, and empowerment by inviting people of all races and faiths to wear hijab for a day in solidarity with Muslim women around the world!🧕🏼🌎

Similarly, Mai Soli combats child marriage in communities that are buried under prejudice and economic instability, through culturally informed education, empowerment, and access to resources. 🤝

We stand in solidarity with ALL women from ALL backgrounds who fight for their choice to express themselves in the way they choose. 💪🏽

Photos from Mai Soli Foundation's post 01/22/2024

Choice. The option for a woman to be able to choose whether or not she wants to undergo an abortion should not still be something up for debate.

The outrage surrounding the overturning of Roe V. Wade has more to do with robbing women living in the US of their autonomy over making decisions they feel that are right FOR THEM. However one feels about abortions, should not be a deciding factor on establishing the reach of Women’s Healthcare — an already underfunded and underdeveloped field.

Banning abortions will not stop them; they will only make women who want abortions try to acquire them unsafely.

At the Mai Soli Foundation, our entire mission of providing education to young girls and their families to combat child marriage is entirely dependent on the girl and her family deciding her future out of CHOICE and not survival.

Women’s rights can only be granted when their choices are respected simultaneously.

Happy Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, MSF fam! 🧡🍩

Each year in the United States, about 11,500 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed, and about 4,000 women die of this cancer. ❌

Additionally BIPOC individuals disproportionately lack access to affordable, quality healthcare screenings. Women in developing countries, like Bangladesh, are incredibly vulnerable to exposure due to a lack of prevention education and treatment resources. 😪

The Mai Soli Foundation’s mission is to invest in girls education and provide resources directly to communities in Bangladesh. Join us on our journey! 💪🏽❤️‍🔥

MSF WRAPPED 🎀: Reflecting on the impact we’ve made in 2023! 🌟

Our Girl’s Empowerment program this year at all 7 of our partner schools, had 183 graduates! 👩🏾‍🎓

That is 183 young girls that were taught Financial literacy, Leadership, Self-confidence, Entrepreneurial skills and learned the tools necessary to make informed decisions about their own futures! That is 183 families in Bangladesh being involved in the fight against gender inequality by witnessing their daughters’ potential as individuals; and not just as a child brides. ❌

Thank you for being a part of our journey, and here’s to continued compassion, resilience, and progress in the coming year! ✨💪🏽

“How is the Mai Soli Foundation any different from other organizations fighting against child marriage?”

We take a preventative approach to handle this large scale systemic issue.

Because the issue of child marriage is often enveloped in a difficult web of cultural, political, and economic factors — rather than taking an intrusive savior approach that doesn’t allow for autonomy for anyone involved, we provide mentors in addition to education for both the at-risk girls and their families to invest in their girl’s dreams—allowing decisions to be made out of choice rather than survival. 💪🏽

The Mai Soli Foundation is the ONLY on the ground foundation that is purely providing the resources for these girls and their families in Bangladesh to make informed decisions about the life paths available to them instead of child marriage, consisting of avenues to continue school or even practice entrepreneurship! 💼📚📊

We cant wait to see how our girls grow, in the direction they want to go with all the skills they have learned; breaking cycles and building their futures! ❤️

In light of the Selena vs. Hailey feud, don't forget that misogyny wins if we're fighting each other instead of uplifting one another!

We don't often see female friendships or even the ✨JOY✨ of women being celebrated enough in Western Media, but in the iconic Bollywood movies we saw growing up, we were often reminded of the importance of female solidarity. 🤝

No mean girls allowed in the Mai Soli Foundation. 🙅🏽‍♀️

Our mentors are making a difference in the lives of young girls! ♥️

We re underway with our Never Alone Girls Empowerment Program, we celebrated the first week with some group selfies with the young girls, to commemorate the lifelong relationships that are being made. 📸

Our mentors give these young women a space where they can see that they're not alone. They're not just their mentor's little sister—they're their mentors' friends, too. 🫶🏼

We want to show these girls that they matter, and that there are people who care about them and support them. 🥰
