AJC - American Jewish Committee
AJC is the global advocacy organization for the Jewish people.
American Jewish Committee (AJC) fights antisemitism and all forms of hate, strengthens Israel’s place in the world, and defends democratic values.
Israel has the right and the responsibility to protect its citizens from terror.
Overnight, Israel successfully prevented a massive Hezbollah terror attack.
AJC stands in complete solidarity with the people of Israel.
The terror group Hezbollah has more firepower than most NATO armies.
This Iran-backed terror organization has launched over 7,500 rockets at Israelis since October.
The world must take action against Hezbollah now.
Urge the European Union to designate Hezbollah as a terror organization: https://actnow.ajc.org/39v56V6
Since 10/7, Jewish communities have experienced increased violence, harassment, and threats.
Fighting antisemitism is not a partisan issue.
After attending the RNC and DNC, we call on both parties to stand with the Jewish community and commit to fighting antisemitism.

We stand with Israel as it confronts the threat from Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, and call on all nations to support Israel’s right to defend itself from such threats.
Just last month, Hezbollah murdered 12 Israeli civilians and wounded more than 30 others in a rocket attack near a soccer field in the Druze village of Majdal Shams in northern Israel.
This was the deadliest day for Israeli civilians since October 7.
Here’s what everyone needs to know about this Iran-backed terror group: https://www.ajc.org/news/what-to-know-about-hezbollahs-escalation-against-israel
Tunisia.
Syria.
Yemen.
Iraq.
Egypt.
These are just some of the countries in the Middle East and North Africa that were once home to thriving Jewish communities, but which today host close to none.
AJC's award-winning podcast series, The Forgotten Exodus, vividly captures the overlooked yet consequential period in history when 800,000 Jews left or were driven from their homes in the Middle East and North Africa.
Season 2 starts 8/26!
Since October 8, Hezbollah has fired over 7,500 rockets and launched over 1,000 drones at Israeli civilians.
The Iranian-backed terror group continues to send more every day.
60,000 people have had to be evacuated from Northern Israel.
We must join Israel in standing against Hezbollah's terrorism.
Today, Agam Berger should be celebrating her 20th birthday surrounded by family and friends.
Instead, she has endured 321 days of captivity, held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
We must bring her home now! AJC.org/BringThemHome

On International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, we remember those who we lost on 10/7 and those who are still being held hostage by the terror group Hamas.
We must never forget the atrocities that these Iran-backed terrorists carried out on 10/7, and that they have promised to do so again and again.
Everyone must stand against terror and work to .
Agam Goldstein-Almog spent 51 days as a hostage of Hamas in Gaza.
When she got back home, the hatred that she felt from her captors had gained new life online. Since 10/7, antisemitism and anti-Israel hate have exploded on social media and beyond, and those who suffered at the hands of Hamas continue to suffer harassment from online trolls.

Today, we mourn the six Israelis whose bodies were recovered by the IDF from Gaza. The murder of each and every one of these souls is a profound tragedy.
As we mourn, we recall each of their stories and shine a light on the love that each one brought to their families, friends, and communities.
There is a U.S-brokered hostage release and ceasefire deal on the table. Israel has accepted it. U.S. Secretary Blinken said yesterday that the onus is on Hamas to agree to it.
This week Jews around the world celebrated Tu B'Av, the Jewish holiday of love, and Israel's version of Valentine's Day.
But for too many the day was a painful reminder of loved ones still held hostage by Hamas.
Ziv Abud survived the massacre on 10/7. Her fiancé, Eliya Cohen, was kidnapped and is still held by Hamas.
On a beach in Tel Aviv, she marked what should have been a joyous moment, surrounded by people, and yet alone without her Eliya.

Over the past 10 months, global antisemitism has skyrocketed, including in the U.S.
American Jewish families have been assaulted at school events, students harassed and threatened on college campuses, businesses vandalized, and synagogues besieged by protestors.
If the Republican and Democratic parties truly stand with the Jewish community, they must take action against antisemitism.

The IDF brought home the bodies of Nadav Popplewell, Yoram Metzger, Avraham Munder, Chaim Peri, Yagev Buchshtav, and Alex Dancyg, who were murdered by Hamas terrorists while in captivity.
As we mourn with their families and the people of Israel, join us in continuing to urge elected officials at all levels of government to do everything possible to bring the hostages home.

There is a U.S.-brokered hostage/ceasefire deal on the table right now.
Israel has accepted the proposal. Secretary Blinken has called on Hamas to accept it as well.
Additional talks later this week must bring a resolution. There's no time to waste.
Keith Siegel was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists 318 days ago. His daughter, Shir, is waiting for her father to return so he can walk her down the aisle.
Shir should not have to beg for her father to be at her wedding. We must bring Keith and the remaining hostages home!

As students gear up for the new school year, excitement is mixed with concern following last year’s rise in antisemitism in schools and on college campuses.
AJC’s Center for Education Advocacy, led by Director of AJC’s Contemporary Jewish Life Department Dr. Laura Shaw Frank, equips administrators, students, faculty, and parents with tools to create safer, more inclusive environments for Jewish students.
Together, we can make this year different and build educational spaces where all students can thrive, free from hate and discrimination.

Meirav Tal survived 53 days of hell after being kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on October 7.
She describes the recovery process as extremely challenging, taking much longer than she had anticipated.
While sharing her harrowing story, she said, “I don’t understand how they can still be held captive. We were tortured during our captivity, and the families here in Israel continue to suffer.”

We strongly condemn the actions of the extremist Israeli settlers who violently attacked the Palestinian village of Jit in the West Bank, killing one person, injuring others, and burning cars and houses.
Their actions, which have been condemned by numerous Israeli officials, including the Prime Minister and President, contradict Jewish and Israeli values. Security forces must swiftly act to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators.
Our thoughts are with the victims and families of this senseless violence.
Danielle Aloni and her young daughter Emilia spent 49 days as hostages of Hamas in Gaza.
Their conditions were extremely bleak and horrific.
115 hostages remain in captivity, prisoners for 314 days. We must .
It’s time to say the quiet part out loud: the Iranian regime is a threat to nations around the world.
It has orchestrated and carried out assassinations in Europe, the U.S., and beyond.
Israelis are not the only ones in danger here.

At least five Muslim Israelis from Bedouin communities in the Negev desert are being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.
Father and son Yosef and Hamza al-Zayadni and Qaid Farhan al-Kadi have not seen their families since their abduction on 10/7 — 313 days ago. The family of Sgt. Maj. Muhammad al-Atarash, who was killed on October 7, has not been able to lay its loved one to rest.
Hisham al-Sayed was kidnapped in 2015.
We cannot stop until all the hostages—Jewish, Muslim, and Christian—are back home.
Last semester, encampments at UCLA physically impeded and intentionally excluded Jewish students from parts of campus.
A federal judge has now issued an injunction that requires the school to prevent discrimination against Jewish students during these protests.
We thank the judge for holding the administration accountable for ensuring the equality of Jewish students.
Judge orders UCLA to ensure equal campus access to Jewish students after pro-Palestinian protests Jewish UCLA students had sued the university, saying it failed to ensure they had full access to campus during pro-Palestinian encampments in the spring.
The Iranian regime and its terror proxies are attacking Israel on seven fronts.
The world must hold them accountable.
⚠️ Hezbollah has a network of terror operatives that stretches from Europe to Africa to the Americas.
The time to act is now: https://actnow.ajc.org/39v56V6?c_src=wb_act_20240813_TakeAction
"This is a crucial moment where the world must demonstrate decisive strength. The onslaught by the Iranian regime, its proxies, and allies is not just a threat to Israel and the Middle East; it represents a concerted effort to overthrow the existing world order."
In a letter to heads of government, AJC CEO Ted Deutch, AJC Europe Managing Director Simone Rodan, and AJC Transatlantic Institute Director Daniel Schwammenthal urge world leaders to coordinate an international initiative to confront the Iranian threat head-on.
