Our Story
SPEAK Mentorship develops the social and cultural capital of girls to become leaders in the workforce. Our flagship mentoring program prepares, and empowers young women as they make life decisions such as college choice, major, and career field. It also helps them build self-esteem, self-efficacy, and agency to portray themselves as the outstanding individuals they are. The girls find SPEAK, and its network of girls and women who share the immigrant experience, as a safe space, as ‘home’. They develop socially, emotionally, academically, and culturally -- finding out who they are as individuals in their communities. With seminars, webinars, and convening events, SPEAK ensures everyone in the network can continually be stimulated, expanding their awareness of opportunities to become leaders in the community.
