We had an incredible time with our amazing nonprofit community at our Annual Meeting! 🎉✨ We're thrilled to share out all the great achievements we accomplished this year thanks to our incredible membership! We also welcomed Kelly Vilar of Staten Island Urban Center as our newest board member. 🙌 We also heard from participants from our successful new initiative, Nonprofit on the Go and shared our strategic planning for the year ahead.

Each June, we host a member meeting to share our annual report with our valuable members, provide important updates, vote on any governance changes, and introduce any new board members. During the meeting, we also review what we accomplished over the past year, and discuss plans for the upcoming year. Afterwards, we host a reception for members to meet new members, connect with each other, and explore potential collaboration opportunities.

What an incredible day it was at the 12th Annual Community Service Awards Brunch on April 21, 2024! Nonprofit Staten Island was thrilled to host this heartwarming event, dedicated to honoring the remarkable individuals who selflessly serve our communities day in and day out.
With over 300 nonprofit leaders, family members, and friends in attendance, the atmosphere was filled with gratitude and admiration for our honorees. As we celebrated National Volunteer Month, we couldn't help but be inspired by the stories of dedication and compassion shared throughout the day.

This Saturday 4.27 Join the AAH and fellow plant enthusiasts for the spring planting of our Q***r Ecologies Garden. Led by Jenno Snyder, participants will plant new bulbs, shrubs and flowers while also learning about q***r ecology and best practices for plant health. Victoria Munro, founder of the Q***r Ecologies Garden Project will provide background on the project and future plans. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn the basics of starting their own garden or to become more involved with the Q***r Ecologies Garden Project as a dedicated garden volunteer.

Catholic Charities of Staten Island has recently appointed Sarah Carbone as their new Controller, and the team is thrilled to have her onboard. Sarah holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's from the University of Pittsburgh. She has worked for 8 years at PwC, where she audited hedge funds and collaborated with private equity clients in the financial services sector. After that, Sarah worked in an Operations role at E*trade, followed by a stint with a family-owned construction company.
Sarah has a special connection to Catholic Charities of Staten Island as she grew up nearby. In fact, she attended a year of school on the Mount Loretto Campus and participated in CYO sports throughout her childhood. Sarah is very excited to assume the role of Controller at this agency, and everyone is looking forward to seeing what the future holds for her and the organization.
So honored to continue partnering with ‘s Youth Leadership Workshop participants.. this week we served as mentors to fine-tune their partipcant’s presentations for the upcoming Innovation Summit! We are so proud of everything the young people have accomplished and can’t wait to hear more about their amazing work next week 🌟👏
