Last week our NYCT Semester in the City students got to have lunch with 6 King's alumni that are working in Theater in NYC: 1 Broadway dancer, I Broadway producer. 2 Equity Stage Managers, 1 Theater Marketing Firm, 1 Playwright, and 1 Actor. All working. All fabulous.
In addition, these students have had guest speakers in class who are Broadway Producers, Theater Agents, Artistic Directors, Press Agents, and Stage Managers.
It's been an exciting first half of the semester.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I'm happy to share that we have a few spaces left for our NYCT Semester in the City cohort in the fall, and we have extended the application deadline to May 1.

NYC Theater is up and running and the excitement is palpable. I myself have seen Confederates, Passover, Letters to Suresh,Skeleton Crew, Dear Evan Hansen, Jagged Little Pill, and had the pleasure of moderating a panel in which Dominique Morisseau director Stori Ayers spoke about Sea Dog Theater's reading of Pipeline. In addition, I've begun a commission from The Director's Theater that I hope I'll be able to get students involved in. As always, we are excited to pair up our Semester students with theater companies around the city where students can gain an understanding of what it means to be a theater professional in NYC.

We'll be offering classes in Contemporary Theater, Dramatic Writing, The Business of NYC Theater, Music Theater Studio, Acting Practicum, Dance Practicum, and Theater Internships.

Check out our website and let me know if you have any students I should connect with.

Best,
Chris

Pass Over 09/15/2021

Friends, this past Saturday I saw the show PASS OVER on Broadway and it was beautiful. The play has a brand new ending that is uniquely redemptive. I highly recommend coming out to support this play by a Christian playwright before it closes!
