While we prepare to open our new library, BPL's Techmobile is here for you! Borrow a laptop or desktop and enjoy some free Wifi!

The Techmobile is available near the interim branch (4201 4th Ave): TODAY, September 5 & 9/19 (11 am – 4 pm)

And at the new Sunset Park Library (5108 4th Ave): Tuesdays, October 3, 17 & 31 (11 am – 4 pm). You can also visit a nearby BPL location for any of your library needs.

Dear Sunset Park residents: We've got some exciting news on our interim location and new branch!

Sunset Park Library's interim location (4201 4th Ave) will close to the public at the end of the day on Friday September 1, as we prepare to open the neighborhood's permanent location at 5108 4th Ave. We look forward to welcoming you to the brand new Sunset Park Library in November 2023!

From Monday 8/7 to Friday 9/1, the interim Sunset Park Library will have the following updated schedule:
8am - 1pm Monday to Friday
9am - 1pm Saturday

Patrons can no longer place new holds for pickup at Sunset Park Library. Previously requested holds will be fulfilled as usual through the end of August. Any holds not picked up by September 1 will be transferred to Bay Ridge Library for pickup.

Moving forward, Bookmobile Service will be available near the interim branch (4201 4th Ave): Tuesdays, September 5 & 19 (11 am – 4 pm) and at the new Sunset Park Library (5108 4th Ave): Tuesdays, October 3, 17 & 31 (11 am – 4 pm). You can also visit a nearby BPL location for any of your library needs.

What does Brooklyn/Sunset Park mean to YOU?

In honor of the Center for Brooklyn History's reopening, BPL is kicking off "Brooklyn is...," an exhibition that celebrates our diverse, richly textured borough — and you’re invited to participate!

Bring photos, artwork, or memories to the library next Tuesday (6/20) from 2-4pm or 5-7pm! We'll provide refreshments and will help you scan and upload any images or stories you bring. Your work may be included in the final exhibition when it opens on September 14! All participants will take home a flash drive with digital versions of the photos, art, or stories you bring.

This is a special opportunity to share what Brooklyn and Sunset Park means to you. Spread the word, and we'll see you on Tuesday!

We're celebrating el día de los niños/el día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day) today with a very special performance!

The Colors of Frida by Teatro SEA is a bilingual, one-woman show about the great Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, which combines storytelling, music, visual arts, puppets, and audience participation. It is recommended for Pre-K to 4th Grade and will be performed in Spanish and English.
