If you want to succeed in making any big and sustainable diet changes, you will want to figure out your "why". We "fall off the wagon" often because we don't have a clear and specific "why" defined before we start.

For example: it can't just be..." I want to lose weight?"
You need to go deeper.

I want to lose weight. Why? I want to look better. Why is looking better important? If I look better, I will feel more confident. Why? I don't put myself out there because I don't have confidence. If I feel more confident, I would put myself out there more, start dating, make new friends. Why is that important? Because I realize my life is missing real relationships, I am lonely, and I won't be happy until I expand my social network. What happens if you stay lonely? My life won't feel fulfilled, I'll be missing out and holding myself back from really living the life I want. So really, you want to lose weight because you are looking to add more intimate relationships to your life, so you won't feel as lonely and will feel more fulfilled but being overweight is lowering your confidence and keeping you from getting out there....

Get my point? Go deeper. Get to the "why" under the "why" if you want to succeed in any of your health goals.
