Support Conservancy! 01/15/2024

Tomorrow (Monday) is the last day for our match challenge and we still have over $15,000 to raise. Please help us meet our goal, and your donations will count double!

https://sfconservancy.org/sustainer/

Your donations help support our critical work for software rights and our defense of the GPL, our internship programs for folks who wouldn't otherwise be able to get involved in free and open source software, and our support of free alternatives to proprietary software.

It's exciting times right now at SFC: You can read a story from this week in The Register about our Executive Director's perspective on software freedom through the lens of her own medical issues. We're working with OpenWrt to launch the OpenWrt One, a fully upstream supported hardware design. You can read the great recent writing from the judge in the Vizio case, denying Vizio's motion to dismiss and cutting favorably to the core of our key legal arguments to enforce the GPL, now we're focusing on our own summary motion. And we hit major milestones with Outreachy and have amazing internships underway right now.

We want to keep working on these important issues. Please help us continue this work!

Support Conservancy! Software freedom is critical to many of today’s most pressing social issues, but it’s only effective when FOSS is for everyone. Support Conservancy today to help make that happen!

We should stand strongly for our principles but we must also live. "

A Note from Our Executive Director: 2023 and my personal quest for software freedom Just when I think that I've really grokked the implications of the technology I have woven into my life, I find that life throws completely new challenges my way that make me realize the extent of the work that we have ahead of us for software freedom. Early this year, in February, as I readied myse...
