Remove any distractions from your study space (now is a great time to set one if you haven’t already 📚) to create a more organized environment that is conducive to concentration and an efficient workflow. A tidier workspace can reduce stress, increase productivity, and maybe even make studying more enjoyable. 👀
The Office of Student Leadership & Engagement is planning for our Undergraduate and Graduate Orientations in the Fall! Apply today to serve as an Orientation Leader for our incoming classes!
The Graduate and Undergraduate Orientation Leader Position (G/OL) engages new students at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering by allowing you to welcome incoming students and set the tone for their experience at Tandon. You will work on team building skills and gain leadership development, all while helping new students transition and acclimate to the NYU Tandon community as well as to New York City!
Additionally, both Graduate and Undergraduate Orientation Leaders are eligible to serve as Peer Mentors for the Fall 2024 semester where mentors will co-lead mentorship groups of 10 students with a fellow Peer Mentor. Each week, the groups will discuss a different topic including managing academics, navigating NYC, getting involved on campus, professional and career development, goal setting, and more. More information can be found on the applications located in our Bio! This is a paid opportunity!
Applications close Sunday, April 7th @ 11:59pm.

Taking some time to practice self care when the semester gets hectic will set you up for success in the long run. Take a walk outside, read that book you’ve been putting off, and recharge your social battery to enhance your overall well-being! With Mercury also in Retrograde, make yourself a priority (even if that means canceling plans!) to avoid burnout.
Ideally, everyone should eat three healthy meals every day. But during a stressful exam season, this may be difficult. Eating at least one meal a day with vegetables, protein, and carbohydrates (bonus points for whole grains!) will keep your brain nourished and healthy. 🥦🍽️ Also, having a balanced diet has been linked to higher academic achievement. 🌟
Don’t forget - the Swipe It Forward program has resumed for this semester, so if you don’t have a meal plan and you have less than $15 in dining dollars, you are eligible for a free meal swipe at select dining halls.
It’s that time in the semester when assignments and exams feel super overwhelming. 😓 But remember that you’re not alone! Sometimes, studying with a friend or group of friends is more motivating than studying by yourself. Use this time to share ideas and get feedback on some of those projects you’ve been working on. 💡
Before you begin studying, create a set of goals that each of you want to accomplish by the end of your session to keep yourselves on track.
Try the pomodoro method! After 20-25 minutes of studying, take a 5-minute break. Instead of checking your phone, touch base with your friends and check your progress! 📝
