We are currently casting the second season for Pachinko on Apple TV+ and are seeking multiple children who speak Japanese and/or Korean. I wanted to send your way in case any child in your network would be interested - no acting experience is necessary.

We are looking for the following roles to portray*:
Korean and Japanese male teens (14 y/o) who speak Japanese OR Japanese and Korean
Korean male (8 y/o) must speak fluent Korean and/or Japanese
*all roles must be fluent or highly proficient in the languages listed above

The project will be shooting in Toronto, Canada and Japan from January through mid-June 2023.

Parents/guardians may contact us by sending an email titled “Pachinko Audition - First Name, Last Name” to us at [email protected]. Please have them include a recent photo or headshot and a small introduction (including what languages are spoken and any acting experience). Any recommendations for any other individuals or organizations who might be interested are very welcome.

The deadline to submit is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7th.

Happy Korean American Day!

This year feels extra special as BKS is celebrating our 5th year. :)

When I first started BKS, it wasn’t just about starting a Korean school so kids in Brooklyn can learn Korean, but it really was about bringing together a community that is special and unique to Brooklyn.

A BKS mom recently wrote to me…asking if I remember the succulents I had gifted our students back in 2018. She sent pictures of how much it has grown and said: “이렇게 씨앗을 뿌리고 자라나고, 커뮤니티로 스프레드 아웃하고.. 선생님이 하고 계시는 일인것 같아요.”
“I think your work is planting seeds to grow and spreading it out to the community.”

This is really the core of BKS.
