In debate our students learn all about perspective, global politics and the international community. It is important for our students to have a holistic perspective of the world. Do you agree?
Sometimes debaters resort to drastic measures to solve the world's toughest problems...
This is your reminder to connect with nature a bit. 🫡 Drink water and get some rest. Legend has it you burn twice as much energy when engaging in intellectual activities than when engaging in physical ones.... do you think that's true? 😆😁
A blast from the past! Who remembers these Yurts at ? 😅 For those who do not know, every summer we used to host a debate camp at the YMCA Frost Valley Camp in upstate NYC. It was nice to have staff and students reconnecting with nature while still engaging in debate.

Asking the right questions can be the key to establishing a solid case. Follow these tips for asking effective cross-examination questions in a debate:
1. Stick to the facts - Think of concise and specific questions that relate directly to the evidence.
2. Know the answers - Prepare for the unexpected and be sure to have a good understanding of what your opponent might say before asking.
3. Be ready to change course and adapt at all times - Ask follow-up questions during cross-examination that can adjust with their answers.
4. Consider the overall picture - Make sure to ask enough questions to get a bigger understanding of your opponent's arguments and strategically get what you need from them.
5. Brainstorm questions and try to predict possible responses during debate practice or at home! It helps and allows you to have a much more productive line of questioning. Stick to the basics, think "Who" What" "When" "Where" "How"
