God is pouring out warnings and instructions through Pastor Cochran about using Godly wisdom in all aspects of life. We especially need this in our marriages, and we of all people do not need to be foolish. Let us lean not to our understanding and seek God for His divine wisdom. Every marriage has different challenges, issues, and circumstances. How many of us have taken these to God in prayer? Asked for instructions, and received a response? Even if the response rebukes us, we must put it into action anyway. At least we got rebuked, God corrects whom He loves. That means there is still a chance to get things right.

Misguided Spouses

God has led Pastor Cochran to speak on how we can be misled. Anything that draws us from God’s truth misleads us. Christians should not be deceived if we listen to the Holy Spirit, but it can happen when we act independently. If it were not possible, the bible would not warn us about it.

Galatians 3:1 NKJV:
“O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you [a]that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed [b]among you as crucified?”
-Paul addressed the people who had stopped listening to the Holy Spirit and were living according to their own will. They had listened to false teachers Paul refers to as “agitators.”
(Galatians 5:12)

We must be careful about what and who we allow to lead us, especially in our marriages. A simple lingering thought not cast down will give the enemy room to plant evil thoughts. Evil thoughts can take root and fester in us, altering our feelings and stifling our faith. An evil whisper from a deceitful tongue, worldly influences, negative opinions, emotions, past hurts, or evil motives can mislead us.
Godly marriages are not valued by the worldly. They want us to think that monogamy is dead. Years ago, there was even a website dedicated to married people having affairs secretly. The website itself was not secret. There were actual commercials on television and online. The CEO even went to news shows and did interviews to promote it. He stated that he was “saving marriages.” He convinced and fooled many from different walks of life. Yet, what is done in the dark will come to the light. A cyber attack publicly publishes every user's personal information online one day. Names, pictures, messages, addresses, and banking information. All because of foolishness, marriages were destroyed.

It doesn’t take a website; all it takes is one person in a marriage to allow strange thinking to take control. Distrust seeps in, allowing misguided thoughts to drive a wedge between husband and wife. It can be finances, work, household responsibilities, intimacy, or other marriage issues. We must let the Holy Spirit guide us. He will let us know when someone, something, or ourselves is trying to lead us astray. We also know that if it is against God’s word, then it is Evil. Being guided by truth helps us cast down evil thoughts and work through anything we face.

Be prayerful, and follow the Holy Spirit. Have a blessed and prosperous day.

The Power of Agreement Makes Us Better!
Amos 3:3

3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

As married couples in God, we must agree on certain things so our homes can stand. We will always differ in certain decisions, but we must agree on the primary agreement. The main first agreement we as the people of God should always live according to, The first agreement :

Exodus 20:2-3 NKJV
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bo***ge.
3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.

We both should be on the same page in believing in Jesus, God's word, and putting God first. God first, is obedience to God, dedication to serving God, the order within our homes, giving, prayer, and helping others. We deem these things as important because we will see our marriage as important according to God’s word. We may not be on the same level but we should be on the same page. These are not things we can be in disagreement with and expect to grow in areas of our lives, especially in our marriages. As spouses, we are to be a strength to one another. We should not be a hindrance or distraction to each other. We will go through enough challenges and distractions in life. Let us grow as husbands and wives maturing in how we handle life situations. Will we error, Yes! We are Not Jesus, but we are striving.

Let us keep the primary agreement, we believe in God-Jehovah, El Shaddai, The Beginning and End, I Am that I Am, Our Lord and Savior-Jesus. He is our hope in All things. Let us serve Him and continue to improve and grow in Him. Humbling ourselves to His will and all He will have us do with integrity and boldness. We do what we are supposed to do and God will fulfill His word.

PHILIPPIANS 2:3-16 "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for your own interests, but also for the interests of others."
James 3:16 " For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there."

As Intelligent Saints in Marriage, we are not to be selfish. Selfishness will not only destroy friendships but will destroy our marriages. Selfishness is not only doing things that only benefit one's self. It is also thinking more highly of ourselves, or giving ourselves more importance over others. The dictionary states,”: the quality or state of being selfish: a concern for one's own welfare or advantage at the expense of or in disregard of others: excessive interest in oneself.’ Greed. Stubbornness or Prideful”

Our marriages matter and how we treat our marriages matters. In our wedding vows, we promised to care for one another. We were meant to be a help to each other to accomplish a God-ordained purpose. Anything that tries to pull us out of that purpose goes against God. It can be a job, a person, differences of opinion, an attitude, or a mindset that gets us off course. We can not allow anything or anyone to come between us and our spouses. Not even our children. Do not allow Self (selfishness) to tear our marriages apart.
