Upperline Health sends it deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Dr. Franklin Kase, who passed away on March 4th, 2023.

Our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Michael King, said of Dr. Kase: “Podiatric medicine and surgery recently lost one of its titans, Dr. Franklin Kase, of California. Dr. Kase was one of the original doctors of podiatric medicine who joined the Upperline family. Frank was one of the true gentlemen of the profession, beloved by all. When he took on an issue for the profession, he was known as "a bulldog" not taking no as an answer. The magnitude of his influence as a leader both in California and nationally is hard to gauge. He was a past president of the California Podiatric Medical Association, a long term delegate to the APMA house of delegates and a past chair of the APMA Health Policy committee. Frank worked tirelessly on behalf of his colleagues, and he was devoted to his family. Frank was a great friend to so many for so long, and we will miss him dearly.”

November is Month! Besides checking your sugar every day, it's important to check your feet too! Why? You may have poor blood circulation in your feet, which means that if you get a cut or a bruise, your blood will move a lot slower in that area, and your cuts or bruises won't be able to heal as fast.

Be sure to follow our tips to keep your feet healthy!

✅ Check your blood sugar every day!
Use your glucometer to keep your sugar levels in the target range.

✅ Eat plenty of veggies, fruits, healthy grains, and healthy proteins.

✅ Don't skip your appointments! Every three months, you should have your a1c checked. The a1c test shows the average amount of sugar (glucose) in your blood over the past few months before the test. This will help your healthcare provider determine if your diabetes is under control and make any necessary adjustments.
