Happy New Year!

With the new year comes a feeling of renewal, but also perhaps a longing for what once was. We’ve all seen the digitization of almost all we interact with, and this might be most evident with the advent of AI. As a visual artist and designer, I share the frustration of thousands, maybe millions of artists who are seeing the human touch being outmuscled by quick and convenient AI solutions. But at what cost? People who’ve spent decades honing their craft must compete with computer-generated images that took no pondering, no compositional energy, and no real humanity. Don’t get me wrong, I use a computer almost daily, and I do create illustrations with it, but when I want to get back to my roots, I reach for a pad and pencil.

Why am I ranting on and on about this? Well, as I said, getting back to my roots is something I’d like to achieve with this new year. So, I’d like to offer my illustration skills to those out there that might like a keep-sake to be passed on from generation to generation, rather than some temporary pixels on a screen. Some of the things I offer are: Birth Announcements, Wedding Announcements, Invitations, Family or Individual Portraits, and much more. Working on some logo designs today. I think logo design is one of my favorite assignments, as everything is new, and anything is possible.

Glad to be working with Atlantic Bridge again for their new upcoming prospectus design. A great company to work with!

Happy to have been selected to do Gallo's new take-out menus. I definitely will be getting a sandwich to go when I drop off the menus.

Let’s hope this is the real deal and doesn’t morph into some “Picnic in Park” thing. If it’s real, I’m in. I love making chili and seeing my friends and neighbors enjoying it.
