Our Story
It all started in the kitchen over 50 years ago. Mama Avila brought the delicious recipes from Guanajuato, Mexico that had been in her family for generations. Over the years, Avila's El Ranchito has grown to 13 locations in Los Angeles and Orange County. Each restaurant is under the personal care of a family member, guaranteeing the reputation the family has earned for treating our customers like part of the family.
This NEW Corona del Mar Location moved from a small but quaint spot across the street to this new Historic Building. The bar was built in the 20's and we did the best we can to restore and highlight the beauty of the building while still adding our Avila family's welcoming touch. The goal was to make everyone feel at home and welcome. You will frequently see Sergio and his daughters, Bianca & Maribel working hard at this location. Sergio's wife, Marybell has put her heart into their new project and visits her daughters at work regularly.
Our Taco Bar has been a huge hit! Choose from steak, chicken, Mahi Mahi or our newest addition, Calamari! Each Taco made with love from one of our chefs Saul or Ivan. We have recently welcomed Hand Made Tortillas every day of the week, including Saturday and Sundays! They are a must try. Served warm with butter!
We are very excited about our Live Music now on Saturday Nights! This has been VERY popular among the locals. Be sure to come early and reserve a table!
