“In 2020, I began to have severe wrist pain. It hurt to do anything – hold a newspaper, I couldn’t drive, and the pain would wake me up at night. As a mechanic, functional motion in my wrists is imperative, so when it became intolerable, I sought out Dr. Boyd Haynes at OSC. I had carpal tunnel release surgery on both wrists, and I am now pain free. I also enjoyed the fact that OSC is a practice that focuses on student education. When I came in for my consult, Dr. Haynes had a medical student shadowing him, and asked them to take a look at my x-rays and describe what they saw. You could tell he cared about giving the student real-world, hands-on medical experience and training. I am very happy with my outcome with Dr. Haynes and the rest of the team at OSC.”

Meet Butch!

After a back injury and subsequent spinal fusion 35 years ago, Butch was headed towards becoming wheelchair-bound before he met Dr. Carlson and had another spinal fusion surgery last Fall. Now at 78, Butch is back in the gym three days a week with no pain at all!

“I have a genetic condition of my hip called protrusio, where the femoral head protrudes into the pelvis. I have always been a very active person – I own a CrossFit gym, yoga studio, and I’m an avid cyclist and skier, but these activities were exacerbating my condition. I got to the point where I couldn’t do the things that I loved anymore, so I went to see Dr. Boyd Haynes at OSC. Dr. Haynes replaced my hip in 2015. I was back in my CrossFit gym with no limitations within 6 months, but I knew I would eventually need my second hip replaced. In 2023, that time came, and I am so happy with my outcome. I am back to doing everything I love 100% - no limited range of motion at all, there is nothing I cannot do! My hips have never felt better in my life, and I have referred at least 40 people to OSC and Dr. Haynes. I cannot recommend this place enough!”
