It can be challenging knowing what one should do in times of sorrow, hurt, stress, or frustration. In reality, we all have challenges, struggles, and difficult stages. Taking time to reach out and gain assistance can not only help ourselves, but can also share with others that they are not alone as well. Whether this be to a friend, a family member, a teacher, or a therapist, let’s not be afraid to open up and ask for help in our times of need.

It can be easy to tell when one is not feeling well. From fevers, to coughs, or headaches we can often tell when we are not feeling well and are in need of rest. Your mental health is just as important to take care of as your physical health. The visibility of our physical health makes it more obvious and socially acceptable to prioritize. Just because others can’t see it, does not mean it’s not important. Taking time to ask yourself how you’re feeling, if you’ve felt increased worries, or the last time you felt joy is a great way to begin checking in and seeing how your mental health is doing. Let’s take time to check in on ourselves to prioritize our mental health just as much as our physical.

Do you ever feel like you’re in a constant state of having a negative mindset? This can happen, and it can be hard. Often times we can hold onto thoughts such as “I’m not good enough”, “I’m going to fail”, etc. While we will struggle in different areas, having a mindset of “I’m not capable” will likely result in one not completing or accomplishing the task at hand. Instead, let’s try to reframe thoughts and utilize statements such as “I can try” or “I can learn”. This small shift can assist with achieving different challenges. Next time you find yourself having more of a negative mindset, let’s try and reframe our thought to show our abilities and capabilities.
