It represents 40 years of making custom furniture, cabinets, and trim profiles in-house as part of our work preserving the rich architectural history of Charleston and the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Inspired by a diversity of work, our extensive collection offers historically accurate profiles documented from projects throughout Charleston’s historic district to new designs of profiles created by our team of designers and craftspeople.
Whether in need of 1 foot or 10,000 feet, contemporary or historic replications, our shop can provide architects, contractors, and homeowners with a variety of custom profiles in various wood species and with short lead times.

Exterior restorations are nearing completion at historic 60 Meeting Street!
The team just installed new recreations of historic copper hoods around these windows, with enlarged flanges for improved flashing. We then added a layer of expanded stainless steel lath, which prevents cracking in the stucco and further weather seals the windows.
On the roof, the lightning suppression system has been installed with rods in the turret, dormers, corners, and chimneys.
Some front-door favorites from the Meadors, Inc Cabinetry + Millwork Catalog.
Our Cabinetry + Millwork projects range in size and scale from full kitchen and bathroom cabinetry to individual pieces of furniture to intricate architectural details. And yes, also to these beautiful doors!

Our own line of Meadors, Inc products, with designs inspired by architecture.
It includes 👇
1️⃣ Large & Small Rectangular Serving Boards
2️⃣ Round Serving Boards
3️⃣ Magnetic Knife Holders
4️⃣ Walnut Coasters
5️⃣ Custom-Made Jewelry
We reimagined materials used every day in preservation and architectural design and transformed them into striking, yet versatile products that embody the art of entertaining in the south. The collection exudes warmth and style using high-quality materials with soul that can be passed down for generations.
Copper and walnut are naturally beautiful, antimicrobial, and sustainable. Made locally in our shop, the boards in this collection come with their own story, and are intended to be the centerpieces around which new stories are created.
The jewelry is an alloy of fair-mined gold and copper to achieve the unique rose color.

Featuring another Sullivan's Island full renovation today!
Every Meadors, Inc workshop contributed here.
Our Architecture and Interior Design teams designed the renovation.
The Cabinetry + Millwork shop built the wooden ceilings from old-growth, river-reclaimed cypress, as well as the headboard in the main bedroom and the kitchen island and cabinetry, which was kept minimal to maximize water views.
This historic home was elevated above design-flood elevation, and our team nearly doubled the square footage by adding a wing of the house that included the kitchen and main bedroom above. We also designed an elevator tower that connects the bonus room and guest bedroom.
Our partner J Geiger Shading specially designed the main bedroom shades.
Meadors, Inc Estate Maintenance + Management now maintains the systems that run this beautiful home.
In a home full of statement pieces, this copper awning is vying for the top spot. It spans the entire length of this downtown Charleston guest home Meadors, Inc is renovating.
Designed by our Head of Interior Design Jack Kennedy, our team fabricated the copper in-house and is in the final stages of install.
The awning design matches one attached to the homeowner's house next-door.
Thanks to partners duBois Metal Works for their beautiful craftsmanship on the ironwork for this (statement) piece.

This photo of Taveau Church is from the 1930's! Our team in Conservation + Preservation Planning found it in the United Methodist Church digital galleries. The church looks a bit different after being elevated by six feet last week. The Meadors, Inc construction team will now build a new foundation and install new sills before Taveau is lowered back down.
The other church photos were on the same page (scanned digitally).
They're part of a nationwide collection of documented photos from the Methodist church, all taken around the same time.

We still love all these angles ❤️📏
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, this is our limited-edition rose petal jewelry, hand crafted from 18K Rose Gold by our in-house goldsmith Katrin Arp-Schroeder.
When not working on Meadors’ preservation and restoration projects, Katrin uses her 35+ years of experience as a metalsmith, goldsmith, and jewelry designer to create beautiful custom pieces like this.
To create this Pendant and Earrings, she composed a custom alloy of pure, Fairmined gold and copper to achieve the unique rose color. The metal was then alloyed at 1,800 degrees, hammered, and formed with traditional techniques to resemble the delicate pedal of a rose. A classic symbol of love made wearable forever.
We also have seven base colors containing 75% pure gold that can be custom alloyed into many different hues.
Head to Meadorsmade.com, then “shop” for more info! Or you can call, message, or even visit us in the shop to see these beautiful pieces in-person!
Which feature is your favorite in this Sullivan’s Island renovation?
Our team replaced all the windows and siding with pre-stained, pre-finished cedar shingles, which were pressure treated to sustain the Lowcountry’s humid climate and impacts from coastal exposure.
We installed a copper roof with similar durability, then chose dark, earthy exterior tones to complement.
On the interior, we installed multi-folding doors in the living room. These open to expansive river views from the side porch, where we installed motorized insect screens to create a beautiful and functional indoor/outdoor space.
This project was a full team effort.

Taveau Church has leveled up...by about six feet.
The church will remain elevated as our team gets to work building a new foundation and installing new sills. Once complete, it will be lowered to its original elevation.
Much more to come on this project!
Tell us your favorite feature on this Aiken property!
It was a commercial building we adapted for residential use, and the ASID Carolinas awarded our Principal of Interior Design, Jack Kennedy, first place in the category of Excellence in Design for Adaptive Reuse.
We took an existing commercial storefront and adapted it to a residential single family dwelling. This home was designed for a family of six, including four children, which guided every design decision.
For instance, we chose durable materials that age well and stain less easily, including all-natural materials like stone countertops and ceramic tile in the kids’ bathrooms. We chose Dolomite stone for the primary bathroom walls and floors to be more luxurious. Wainscoting on the walls handles the occasional soccer ball hit with ease.
On the exterior, we made several design changes to give a more residential feel, including replacing storefront windows with double hung windows, elevating the first floor by a foot, and recessing the front door to create a portico.
We still like the way these features all sing together!
UPDATE on Taveau Church - The building is now stabilized in preparation for lifting. We've braced the front portico and the roof, as well. It will now be slowly, carefully lifted six feet up and then blocked into place while a new foundation is built and new sills are installed.
Once that work is complete, it will be set back at its original elevation.
"The church was more than a place to come to worship. It was your survival in a world that was often hostile to who you were," said Cynthia Gibbs, a member of the church Taveau merged with in the 1970's. Cynthia has worked for years to see the centuries-old church restored.
What do these shingles from 60 Meeting Street and this jewelry have in common? They're both the expertise of Katrin Arp-Schroeder, our in-house metalsmith.
Katrin was a crucial part of a team that guided the metal forming process and details of these shingles, which are precise recreations of this home's original roof from the 1890's.
She participated in a goldsmithing apprenticeship and Masters program in Hamburg, Germany, finishing at the top of her class. She then studied jewelry design for another four years in Germany and Australia, earning the highest academic degree from the Fachhochschule Wismar, Germany (equivalent to a Masters).
She's now worked for more than 35 years as a metalsmith, goldsmith, and jewelry designer.
When not working on Meadors' preservation and restoration projects, she's in our design studio making custom jewelry from recycled silver and fair-mined gold.
In these shots, she's holding a torch with an 1,800 degree flame for 20 minutes (non-stop) to melt this silver. She then poured it into cuttlefish bone, and it will ultimately become beautiful signet rings.
If it exists in the world or your mind, our Design Services team can build it (very small, in this case).
The team uses modern fabrication technology and techniques together with the traditional craftsmanship of our shop to provide unique perspectives of landscapes and buildings. These models are made with acrylic, wood, foam, and metals.
Whether a topographic, residential, or commercial design, these models are an ideal way to conceptualize a project or place not easily accessed.
Model making is just one area of expertise for our Design Services team.

A roof built to last 150 years. Once finished, the roof of this 60 Meeting Street home will host 2,000 of these shingles. Another 392 on the turret (AKA the cone).
They're identical in appearance to the original roof built in the 1890's, but made of lead-footed copper with an increased lap joint to ensure longevity.
We sent an original, 130-plus year old shingle to our partners in Canada Heather and Little Limited(very carefully packaged). They made a 3D rendering and samples before using a metal press to create the thousands of shingles across the roof.
Each one is a replica of history, built for longterm water protection. It's just one way Meadors, Inc is committed to historic restoration and preservation.
Nearly two centuries of history. Our team has begun work to stabilize and lift the 188-year-old Taveau Church in Moncks Corner.
