UMass Amherst: Arts Extension Service - AES Highlights
Two very different and very exciting art alums from UMass are coming back to speak on November 15th from 5-6:30 PM in the Studio Arts Building as part of the Alumni Art Stars series put on by the Arts Extension Service and the UMass Art Department.
Kathleen Gilrain directs Smack Mellon Studios in NYC, a space where emerging and underrepresented artists have the opportunity to showcase and create work, and as an artist creates nature-based site-specific installations.
Nicholas Des Cognets is a mixed media installation artist whose work seeks to give form to the relationship between nature and human perception without using the obvious tropes and cliché imagery of nature. He is currently a second-year fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
Admission is FREE and open to public! Come hear their interesting and unique stories.
